10 Things That Are Wrong About The World

1. There is too much disregard for the value of the life.

2. There is too much hunger.

3. There is too much violence.

4. There is disease for which there is no cure.

5. There is too much arrogance on the part of some wealthy individuals and groups, some well educated people, some governments, and so many human beings in general.

6. There is too much ignorance about any number of things and so many lies that shouldn't be believed but are.

7. There is too little respect for children, as individual human beings.

8. There is too little understanding of children, which leads to their growing up

into adults who have emotional damage and who fail to reach their potential as individuals.

9. There are people who, themselves, are severely lacking in intellect and emotional maturity and/or moral development who are too stupid to figure out that animals are living creatures like humans are. They're not plants or non-living objects.

and (drum roll please) the tenth thing that is wrong about the world in which we live:

10. That not even a mere 100 years after the American South still had different drinking fountains for people of different races, and that not even a mere 90 years after people in the US still believed women shouldn't have a right to vote, people today still can't seem to imagine that they don't know everything about everything; and that there is still much refinement and perfection of humanity left to be done.

At any point in history too many people believe that humans have finally reached some state of perfection; and they look back on past atrocities and ignorance, and talk about how stupid people in earlier days were. Too often it just doesn't occur to people that maybe - just maybe - fifty years from now others will look back on the people of today and be horrified at all the horribly stupid things they've done. That may be the thing I most hate about the world in which we live.
