# 30 ~ Monty Python and the Holy Grail
The Killer Bunny
Monty Python and the Holy Grail ~ 1975
Sir Lancelot: We were in the nick of time. You were in great peril.
Sir Galahad: I don't think I was.
Sir Lancelot: Yes, you were. You were in terrible peril.
Sir Galahad: Look, let me go back in there and face the peril.
Sir Lancelot: No, it's too perilous.
Sir Galahad: Look, it's my duty as a knight to sample as much peril as I can.
Sir Lancelot: No, we've got to find the Holy Grail. Come on.
Sir Galahad: Oh, let me have just a little bit of peril?
Sir Lancelot: No. It's unhealthy.
Sir Galahad: I bet you're gay.
Sir Lancelot: Am not.

Roger the Shrubber: Are you saying Ni to that old woman?
King Arthur: Um, yes.
Roger the Shrubber: Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say Ni at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress in this period in history.
King Arthur: Did you say shrubberies?
Roger the Shrubber: Yes, shrubberies are my trade. I am a shrubber. My name is Roger the Shrubber. I arrange, design, and sell shrubberies.
# 29 ~ Foul Play
Best Comedy Scene of All-Time!
This movie, which aimed for romantic comedy mixed with Hitchcockian thriller elements, turned out to be a successful vehicle for both Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn and it was one of the first appearances by Dudley Moore in an American made film. This film is so original that I can't think of a single film like it. It's scary at times in brief spurts but every scene is steeped in comedy. The great Burgess Meredith has a wonderful part to play in this thriller as well. Other supporting roles for Brian Dennehy and the hilarious Billy Barty who is probably the most successful actor among "little people".
Foul Play ~ 1978
Gloria Mundy picks up a hitch-hiker on the West Coast Highway and his name is Scotty. He wants to leave his cigarettes in Gloria's possession saying that he wants to quit. She agrees to help and to meet Scotty for a movie later that night. At the theatre, Scotty shows up shot and bleeding and offers her this puzzling advice,"Beware of the Dwarf!" and from that point on we are glued to the screen. Between the car chase around San Francisco to the possible execution of The Pope who is visiting and is planning to attend the opera, there is plenty of action too. 'Hitch' would have LOVED it.
# 28 ~ Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
Throw The Jew Down The Well.
Sacha Baron Cohen is a genius in my opinion. Since the inception of "Da Ali G Show" he just keeps on rolling. In fact, he was amazing in Tim Burton's latest film Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. His new movie with his fashionista Bruno character (also featured in the Da Ali G Show) is due in '09. He was nominated for an Academy Award in 2006 for the Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay for Borat and he won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy!
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan ~ 2006
When Borat Sagdiyev travels to America to learn about the finer things in life, he is quickly derailed by his own desire to marry actress Pamela Anderson. That's basically it. The clip I have given you is NOT from the movie but from Da Ali G Show on HBO. It is the best example of what this comedian does. He plays on your prejudices and then lets you make an ass of yourself! Every person in this 'honky' tonk gets what they deserve right here.
# 27 ~ National Lampoon's "Animal House"
Over? Over?
Director John Landis is responsible for the following hilarious comedies that did not make this list.
- The Kentucky Fried Movie ~ 1977
- The Blues Brothers ~ 1980
- An American Werewolf in London ~ 1981
- Twilight Zone: The Movie ~ 1983
- ¡Three Amigos! ~ 1986
- Amazon Women on the Moon ~ 1988
Animal House ~ 1978
Dean Wormer is desperate to rid Faber College of it's worst fraternity on campus, Delta House. Double Secret Probation is adopted and the boys are backed against the wall until they decide to fight back the only way they know how. Toga Toga Toga! Some new cadets (Pinto and Flounder) are joining up with the veterans (Bluto, Boon, D-Day & Otter) to take back the school and maybe even the Dean's wife as well. Culminating in a parade your not soon to forget, this is the ultimate collegiate comedy.
# 26 ~ Annie Hall
Opening Monologue
Diane Keaton is one of the finest actresses who ever lived and she has been in many great comedies through the years. The ones that did not make this list but are damn good nonetheless are..
- Baby Boom ~ 1987
- Father of the Bride ~ 1991
- The First Wives Club ~ 1996
- Marvin's Room ~ 1996
- The Family Stone ~ 2005
Annie Hall ~ 1977
A spontaneous relationship between a neurotic New Yorker and his daffy girlfriend Annie is documented in retrospect as he tries to figure out what exactly went wrong. This innovative comedy uses all sorts of gags that have been duplicated ad nauseum. Among them, breaking the fourth wall in the middle of a scene to point out it's participants' idiocy, subtitles to explain what a character is thinking, and even the animation was extremely influential. It is considered to be Woody Allen's masterpiece but it isn't his funniest! :D That one has to come. Patience, my pets.

Yeah. There are so many scenes that I couldn't figure out which one to use. That's why I gave a photo of one scene, video of another and quotes from two more.
Wow I hadn't seen some of the Monty Python stuff since I was in high school too long ago. Nice!
Yeah I noticed that. Which makes you so good at making these hubs. You add the best parts of the movies and you add them in different ways. :D
I was thinking you should add the movie MADE because it is a funny movie. I love Vince Vaughn. He was good looking in that movie too! LOL. But that is not why I watched it. I watched it because a lot of people said it was funny. And it is, so it deserves to be on the funniest movies. Right? :)
