This series has been so much fun for me personally, and hopefully for you as well. The one splinter in my mind however is that I lacked the proper patience before starting the series. For you see, I was done. I had it down to the 99 that I really wanted but COULD NOT DECIDE how to give away that last spot on the list. There are many reasons for this of course and here they are at random, with apologies to lovers of Dogma, Big Night, The Goonies, Baby Boom, Drop Dead Fred, Slacker, My Bodyguard, Don Juan DeMarco, Bachelor Party, Spaceballs, The Flamingo Kid, Home Alone, Nurse Betty & Willie Wonka.

THE HEART-BREAKERS

  1. Dazed and Confused ~ Funny yes, but it also a sprawling landscape of nostalgia. Funniest part is Matthew McConaghey's line,"That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age."

  2. Fargo ~ Has some really funny parts between Steve Buscemi and his psycho partner, plus the scene at dinner with Marge, but it's just not a comedy. Best Line, "Aw Jeez."

  3. Glengarry Glen Ross ~ Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin, Alan Arkin, Ed Harris, Kevin Spacey & Jonathan Pryce in David Mamet's scathing masterpiece. Best Line: (Can't Be Published Here)

  4. Stand By Me ~ Some funny stuff, but too few and far between for this list.

  5. Network ~ Howard Beale is sorta funny, but not in a funny ha-ha way.

  6. Dead Poet's Society & Good Morning Vietnam ~ NOT Comedies!

  7. Time Bandits from Terry Gilliam is a brilliant kid's fantasy sci-fi adventure comedy but what percentage is that?

  8. Steel Magnolias ~ 3/4 hilarious but also 1/4 depressing! Not a Comedy?!

  9. As Good As It Gets ~ Jack is really funny in this but there is way too much drama.

  10. Ed Wood ~ Love this movie to death but I don't turn it on to crack myself up.

  11. Mars Attacks! ~ See Ed Wood.

  12. Let It Ride ~ A gambling movie with Richard Dreyfuss that isn't quite funny.

  13. Midnight Run ~ DeNiro is great in this comedic-action caper but...?

  14. Sweet and Lowdown ~ Sean Penn is really funny in this Woody Allen pic but eh?

  15. Crooklyn ~ Again, where does one categorize movies like this?

There were also several roles of comic genius that were DQ'd because they weren't in a comedy and they are..

  1. Whoopi Goldberg as Oda Mae Brown in Ghost

  2. Don Cheadle as Mouse in Devil In a Blue Dress

  3. Amy Adams as pregnant Ashley in Junebug

  4. Brad Pitt and Michael Rapaport as Floyd and Dick Ritchie in True Romance

  5. Steve Buscemi as Mr. Pink in Reservoir Dogs

  6. Ewen Bremner as Spud in Trainspotting

The Final Spot went to WEIRD SCIENCE but....WHY?

Because I love the way Bill Paxton says, "How about a roast pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray." That's it. ?

The guy playing Wyatt drives me crazy and so does wasting Robert Downey Jr. on a douchebag role like this one. Look at his face above. ^^^ He looks like he's saying, If they had cast me as Wyatt, we wouldn't be getting tossed off the list.

Pfft. <I said "Tossed Off"> which is a big line in the movie btw.

Anyways, someone (Tater2tot) mentioned another comedic duo of cinema. One where both guys are loved equally. Both funny, ya know.

I thought about George Carlin (a/k/a Rufus) and then it hit me!

# 99 ~ Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure

The Proof > Our Lips Are Sealed

The New and improved # 99 is Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure!

Bill S. Preston Esquire and Ted Theodore Logan are Wyld Stallyns! Together these time-traveling stoners who don't seem to smoke will keep you laughing through the ages. Be it Aristotle, Billy the Kid, Joan of Arc, Abraham Lincoln or the funniest one of all - Napoleon Bonaparte, these guys keep the tempo going and there's a good heart in the creamy center.

Starring Alex Winter of The Lost Boys fame and some guy named....Keanu (Kee-ah-new) Am I saying that right? <giggle> Anyway as I said before this film also features my hero and my mentor in life Mr. George Carlin. For the trivia minded that's Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Go's playing Miss of Arc!

I thought let it ride wass pretty funny...and stri-pes was great, I feel an argument coming on that one. I am glaad to see 40 yeaar old virgin sunk down to the end of your list , it was overblown.

Have you ever seen the movie " the search for one eyed Jimmy" it is a classic that never got any air time.

Man, good coice on number 99. Under your Heart Breakers one was Stand By Me? Are you talking about the movie where those four kids set out to find a dead body? If so that movie is pretty funny but more serious and problem-y.

Tayler!
