It seems like the most nostalgic songs aren't the most popular ones because overplay takes them out of your memories. It's the one you haven't heard since 1986 that really takes you back. Thus I'm not surprised that though I am of the MTV generation there's many of these I've never heard. True to the private nature of nostalgia, I would pick an entirely different list, even where the artists are the same.

Wow you're a charmer aren't you?! It is a matter of opinion and I stand by my choices! I was only 8 years old in the mid 80's and these are the songs I remember from that time period.
Wow, you have absolutely horrible taste in 80s music.... There was literally only one good song on your list (Bowie). You really should have given up on the sappy pop crap and listened to some good post-punk alternative stuff.
