I remember seeing the animated movie 'One hundred and One Dalmatians', abbreviated 101 Dalmatians, for the first time as a kid at a drive in theater in the 70's. I didn't realize it at the time, but this animation movie was the first one set in a contemporary setting. The setting was London and there we were introduced to a songwriter named Roger Radcliffe, and his dalmatian, named Pongo. Pongo and Roger were bachelors but Pongo was bored with that type of life style so he set out to find a wife for Roger and himself.

In the 1961 Disney movie, you may recall that Pongo ends up marrying another dalmatian named Perdita. Oh, those crazy Disney films! But anyway, Perdita ends up giving birth to 15 puppies. However, one almost dies. Do you remember what Roger, the owner of Pongo, does with the pup? He takes the lifeless puppy into his hands and he rubs the puppy gently in a towel and ends up reviving the cute thing. They give him the name LUCKY because that's what he is, lucky to be alive!

This cute puppy ends up in trouble though, as Cruella De Vil, or should I say 'Cruella Devil', hunts these poor helpless puppies for their fur. She wants to make dog skin fur coats! Desperate Pongo and Perdita use a sort of canine gossip line to get the attention and help from other dogs all across England. Danger, suspense, and hilarity ensues as the puppies, with the help from other animals, manage to escape. Pongo and Perdita assist in their escape and luckily for them all they get away and they live to see another day with their fur intact.

Did I bring back some memories? What really brought back some memories for me is when I came across this little stuffed Lucky dog, I thought of my wife. My wife has a huge collection of stuffed animals and she has been collecting them since she was young. I know of one that she does not have in her collection and that's this little adorable guy from 'One hundred and One Dalmatians' the movie. You can probably guess what she's getting as her next gift.
