Palm trees are more than just tall things that provide you with some shade during your vacations in the tropics...

Living in Nigeria, I've seen my share of palm trees. (Currently, I live in Caifornia where the palm tree population is also abundant)

Living in a Nigerian village, I've seen what people do with these palm trees. (Here, in California, people aren't so keen on the palm product harvesting)

In addition to that, I have done my share of reading. And through this research I have gathered enough information to compile this list of 101(-91...that is equal to 10 for those of you who are mathematically challenged) ways to make money from a palm tree...

1. Create your own special brand of cooking palm oil.

2. Create your own special brand of jarred, cracked, palm kernels. (this is REALLY convenient, because it is a real hassel getting those suckers open!)

3. Create your own special brand of palm decor (potted plants, and outdoor plants for people's homes)

4. Use the wood to create furniture and sell it

5. Use the leaves to create thatched rugs (for hippies...lol...j/k)

6. Sell pictures of palm trees by a beach for screensavers and postcards

7. Make palm tree leaf jewelry and sell them for 1 or 2 bucks at a beach (to hippies...lol...j/k...i should leave hippies alone)

8. Create your own special jar of palm fruit (maybe salt them and roast them) and sell them in stores.

9. Harvest palm oil and go into business with the following industries as a supplier:

• popcorn
• automotive
• canned soup

• ice cream
• fast food restaurant (especially those that serve fried foods)
• medicine

10. Bottle palm wine. Give it a variety of flavours including, carbonated, natural, cherry, strawberry, orange, mango, grape, etc.

Don't forget to donate to charity. It's good for taxes and the folks that hate you for being rich will hate you just a little bit less...
