2. Write a to do list. Write down what you want to accomplish each day and when you have accomplished them check the task off the list. This will keep you organized. List your appointments, referrals, and clients in a notebook or planner or even on your computer. This will keep you focused and you will see your business grow directly in front of you.
3. Attitude. When you have the proper attitude and you are enthusiastic, your enthusiasm will rub off on the people you meet. Its the best energy for you and your business.

4. Just Ask. Do not wait for someone to ask you because that typically does not happen. After you have spoken to people, just ask them for the sale. Keep your referrals and clients up to speed of all of the latest information. You do not have to be aggressive but be assertive and firmly yet gently go for the ask and this will get you a sale.
5. NO, NO, NO. Do not get upset when you hear someone say no. Sometimes that could mean they do not have the money, they may have had a bad experience and now they want to think about it. There is an old saying that network marketers use and it can work in direct sales as well. They saying is, some will, some won't, so what, whose next!
6. Time Management. Your schedule is your road map to riches. Map out your time and stick to it. Remember you can set your own hours. Utilize your time wisely and you can easily only work your business 2 to 4 hours per day.

8. Your Office Area. Be sure to have a set place within your home that is considered your office space. This helps with organizational skills and order for you in your business. Also, it will let your family know that you are serious about working and you do not want them invading your work space.
9. Get Involved at the Corporate Level. More than likely your direct sales company will have major contest running which are made to stimulate your success in sales. Get involved and you can win a car, a home, a major vacation or whatever the company is offering. Get involved with the incentives that are being offered.
10. Money Management. Fortunately, you will always be handling money. Unfortunately, with cash on hand or money constantly coming in could be chaos if you do not know how to manage your money correctly. When you are on a 9 to 5 you know exactly what you are getting and you can plan your expenses around your check, however in direct sales you do not know exactly how much you will earn. Manage your money.

Awesome article Rhonda. It was very informative and well written. It's so funny how we don't think outside of the box, when the box is right in front of us. For us women, we buy Avon all the time, but never stop to think of it being direct sales nor do we place ourselves in the position of our Avon rep.
