Ririan Project gives 10 reasons why drinking water is safe and healthy. Water helps provide a healthy skin, reduces toxins, reduces risk of heart attacks, gives more energy and helps stay alert and many more.

We have heard it several times, drink more water, but we ignore it and always drink it as a last resort. Drinking water is healthy; it serves a variety of purposes. Ririan Project gives 10 reasons why drinking water is safe and healthy.

Here they are:

  • Get Healthy Skin: Water is the single most important element for cellular integrity. Instead of using creams and moisturizers, water does most of the job and effectively naturally. It moisturizes the skin inside out. Water also helps prevent dryness.
  • Flush Toxins: Water helps remove toxins from the body, in particular from the digestive tract. Our kidney system does this job effectively in the presence of water; if water is absent it doesn't do the job. Water helps get rid of excess nitrogen, urea and ketones. You need more water if you want the kidney to do an efficient job.
  • Reduce Your Risk Of Heart Attack: Researchers at Loma Linda University in California studied more than 20,000 healthy men and women and have found out that people have less heart problems when they drink a minimum of five glasses of water per day compared to those who drink less than two glasses a day. It is a natural stress reducer, no pills necessary.
  • Cushion and Lube Your Joints and Muscles: If you do exercises frequently you will know this, drinking less water creates cramps in the body. Water helps lubricate and cushion the joints and muscles. Drink water before, during and after exercise and keep your body hydrated, reduces cramps and fatigue.
  • Get energized and Be Alert: Researchers have found, that adults lose about 10 cups of fluid a day through sweating, exhaling, urinating and bowel movements. The levels of oxygen in the bloodstream are greater when the body is well hydrated. The more the oxygen in the body, it will help burn fat, without it the stored fat is underutilized and will have less energy. Human brain has 85% water, the more water present it thinks clearly. Now the schools are making the kids either keep bottled water or make them drink water to think better. So, keep the body hydrated to eliminate these problems, will boost energy, and feel less grumpy and alert.
  • Stay Regular: Water helps digestion; it encourages bowel movement and softens the stools. Water is essential for proper digestion, nutrient absorption and chemical reactions. The carbohydrates and proteins that our bodies use as food are metabolized and transported by water in the bloodstream. Water also helps to transport waste particles.
  • Reduce Your Risk of Disease and Infection: Failure to drink enough water leads to Chronic Cellular Dehydration. The body cells weaken when they are not hydrated and will be vulnerable to attack from many diseases. These cells will try to draw water from other places like heart, which will then have to work harder to pump blood causing additional problems.
  • Regulate Your Body Temperature: Water regulates the body's cooling system. Sports drinks are useful when consumed after or during vigorous and prolonged exercise in high heat. But most experts agree that water works better than carbohydrates or sugared beverages for moderate exercise. Body absorbs water much better than sugar based beverages.
  • Burn More Fat and Build More Muscle: It has been shown that dehydration decreases protein synthesis. Protein synthesis is what builds muscle. It is an energy costly process. When there is less water protein synthesis is less, fewer calories end up building proteins and more calories end up adding fat. With water the fats get burned and converted to energy, in its absence the fat content increases. Drinking more water reduces fat.
  • Get Well: When you are sick many recommend drink fluids, water helps the same, it can help control a fever, replace lost fluids and thin out mucus.

Water plays a vital role in every body function; lack of water causes a variety of problems as seen above. Keep drinking water regularly through out the day. Even drinking a little before the meal, will make you eat less and help digestion.

I actually keep track of how much water I drink a day to make sure I do get enough. I've been consistently drinking 14-16 glasses a day for the last three months. If I drink less than 8 glasses a day for some reason, my whole body feels it.

Great article!

Thanks Tshirtscene, now we know how you are bubbly :) stress free. Thats the key. It is natural and available in plenty, once you have good filtering system it will definitely help us.

Thanks Stacie. Glad to see you are seeing the result. But one of the studies said 8 is the optimal number of glasses of water you should drink. Please double check the amount. There is a saying too much of anything will have a negative effect.

I run twice a day, afternoon and evening and I can feel it if I don't get enough water in me before and after.

Meh...I drink water all the time though. Cheaper when I'm out somewhere. :)
