Finding a date can be frustrating. Bars are noisy, smoky, and tend to just be unpleasant. Once you feel an attraction, you hear statements like "I just want to be friends" or "I am not ready for a relationship". I have compiled fourteen rules for dating success.

#1 Be Confident in Yourself

People are naturally attracted to confident people. A rule that is especially true with woman. Women can tell when a guy is confident with himself and where he is going with his life.How confident are you? If you are not confident, why? Do you think you are ugly, overweight, unattractive?

Confidence can overcome all of these issues. Many women are not that shallow and will be attracted to confident men despite these issues. Don't believe me? Have you seen Larry the Cable Guy's wife? He is by no means the most fit or attractive man but he has a smoking hot wife. Why? He is totally comfortable with who he is.

Confidence will change how you act. Men who are not rich or good looking can still achieve dating success. How is this possible? They act like they are rich and successful. No, they do not lie to women, they act in ways that extrude confidence much like rich or good looking men do.

You must love yourself. If there is something causing you to not love yourself, identify the issue and fix it. Say you have a large mole on your face that is making you very self-conscious, get it removed. You will find fixing the issue of self-doubt changes you physically and mentally. You will feel better about yourself. Other people will too. You will find yourself being more outgoing and getting more dates.

Many of us were told growing up that women wanted men to nurture and wanted to be treated like princesses. In reality, this is not the case. Modern women want to be treated like equals.

Don't believe me? Consider this situation.You have a nice date. Your date says she had a great time and would like to see you again. Let's look at two possible responses.

Response #1 - You call a girl often after a date and she seems distant and funny

Response #2 - When you don't call her and you act like you're busy and could live with her or without her, she won't stop calling you.

WOMEN DON'T WANT TO BE CATERED TO, HOUNDED, TREATED LIKE PRINCESSES OR ANY OTHER RUBBISH YOUR MOTHER TOLD YOU ABOUT DATING.

Rule #3 is a little longer. Woman like men who are cocky, funny, charming, and a gentleman.

Cocky should not be confused with neurotic. We are not talking about guys who stop to see themselves in every mirror they pass. We are talking about the cockiness that keeps a guy from being afraid to joke around with women. This type of cockiness will keep you from acting uptight and nervous around women, a definent turn off.

You want to be the fun guy to hang around. Light teasing and appropriate jokes will make your date laugh. Laughter aids people in loosening up and can greatly aid you in a successful date.  

Don't get emotional, even if the woman does. Woman will test you. This rule is extremely important, especially when you start dating someone more seriously.If your feeling nervous, angry, or upset, do not get emotional. Rather than getting emotional and saying something stupid, for the good of your sanity, don't say anything.

Words cannot be taken back. It is better to say nothing than try to take something back. Women will always do this. They consider every word and how you might react. They do this to test our reactions and suitability as a mate. Your job is to stay calm. That will prove that you are a man who can handle adversity.  

Contrary to popular believe women don't want men they have to take care of (see Rule #3). Women like manly men, men who can take the lead in the relationship. When your women asks what you want to do be a man, make a decision. Don't say things like "I dunno, what do you want to do?" Your date will see that you are decisive and can lead.  

Guys often get into trouble by appearing needy. This can happen in many different ways, one way is by being overly concerned about what your women is doing, or appearing that you live only to be with her. Keep this from happening by staying busy.

Get a hobby, play a sport, go out more with your friends and if you don't have any friends, make some!

Keep your mind busy and everything else will fall into place because you will be too busy with your life to care what she is doing. She will be just a nice little extra in your life, not your whole life! 

A quality attraction needs time to develop. During the first 10 to 20 dates, don't see your date more than three times a week. I realize this can be tough, especially if you really like the person. You want to spend all the time with them. Remember a quality relationship needs time to build. You do not want to burn her or you out too quickly.  

Relationships are much more complicated today. People are waiting longer to get married. Before you meet Mrs. Right you may have many partners (both dating and sexually). Whether on a date, living with someone, or getting married leave the past in the past.  

Women don't want sappy guys. Afraid you are losing a girl? Sappy emails or letters will drive her away. Many guys think that professing their love will bring the girl back. It only makes you look more insecure and needy. Women don't like insecure and needy guys.

Move on with your life. Breakups can be hard, don't make it worse by being needy. Moving on and start dating. You will reinforce that you are confident and secure. These traits will bring back love much faster than the most well written love letter.  

People are attracted to passionate people. Have a goal for life. Working towards a goal helps you become passionate about life. For example, telling dates about your dream to be an award winning author can be very sexy. It shows that you are passionate and intelligent.

Many guys would argue this rule. They say that they have tried this and it doesn't work. The key is to be sincere. Women can sense insincerity. It will kill any value you have built up.  

Don't apologize for the sake of apologizing. Don't apologize if you have done nothing wrong. Guys have a habit for things they didn't do. It makes you look insecure or too eager to please. This is a real turn off for women.

If a women is doing something you don't like, tell her. Don't put up with moody behavior just for the sake of putting up with it. You will be seen as a push over. if the relationship does last these behaviors will continue because you allowed it to. By the time you get fed up with it you could be in divorce court.  

Lean Back Relax Don't Be Nervous, Be Confident, Funny, Cocky, But Don't Take It Too Far!

I must admit, one date I did take the cocky and funny routine a bit far and probably was a bit more relaxed then I should have been and I came across very arrogant and sarcastic.

Arrogance is a huge turn off and there is a fine line between that and cocky and funny. 

No matter how funny or cocky you are, treat sex with respect. If you do have sex with a girl, make it special, like she's the only one that matters. 

Chefs have known for years that people eat first with their eyes. The same rule works during dating. Packaging is important. Dress appropriately for the occasion. If you are going to a fancy restaurant wear a nice suit and tie. If going to the moview wear nice jeans and a polo shirt. Clothing should be clean, pressed (if appropriate), free of holes, and any inappropriate or racy sayings.

Personal hygiene is also important. Bad breath is a huge turn off. Clean shaving is more attractive than three day stubble. Lastly, make sure your hair and nails are well groomed.  

After hearing them, many of these tips might seem familiar. Women like men who are confident, can be leaders, and are passionate. Confidence comes from loving yourself. Passion comes from being comfortable and confident with your future. Having goals and working towards them will make you passionate. Practice these rules and you will ensure dating success.
