The Importance of Personal Growth

When I was a senior in high school, our class song was "My Way". I think I have lived most of my life that way, doing it my way. Sometimes I wonder if that is really the best way though. I think that personal growth is one of those things that differs for everyone. We all see things that we want to change and have goals that we want to reach.

I have lived my life my way, and as a result, have had to overcome many obstacles. From personal ones to financial ones. Maybe it would have been better for me to do things someone elses way once in a while. I have begun to make that change in my life. When I look back, I see, in some aspects, the mess I have made of things.

Through self-examination, I have found that the mistakes I have made, would have been made anyway. This brings on the personal growth. It is vital and unavoidable. Changes in relationships, a way of life, personal habits, diet, health, the potential changes are endless. As we grow, our dreams change, desires change, wants and needs change. I guess that is what life is all about, change.

My goals have changed. I no longer need to concentrate on raising my children, as they are all grown now. I only offer advice when asked or needed and give encouragement every day. One of my personal goals is to become financially stable. I know it will happen, just wish I knew when.

As far as growth on a personal level, I am losing those extra pounds that I have carried around with me. I am finally confident with myself and who I am. I don't trust as easily as I once did. I am still having to learn about being patient with myself. My life has settled down, and I like it this way, but I still wonder when the chaos will happen again.

I think this is a fantastic entry. I love that life is so dynamic, that things are always changing, that challenges come up all the time. I wouldn't regret how you did things in the past.

We all have a inner stuggle when we look back on things, and wonder...what if I had done that differently? And the answer to that is, you wouldn't be who you are today. You have to make mistakes in order to learn. "Experience is a hard teacher...she gives the test first, and the lesson afterwards."

When it comes to problem solving, the first thing I ask myself these days is, "Can I do something about this problem?" If so, I do it. If not, then I let the chips fall where they may, because the solution is not within my reach! Surprisingly, most problems are relatively minor when compared to the amount of time we spend worrying about them. Nice hub, freecreative1.
