A woman from Jakarta, Indonesia was reported to gave caesarean birth last Monday to an 8.7-kilogram (19.2-pound) baby boy at a public hospital located in North Sumatra province. The newborn baby is 62 centimetres (24.4 inches) long and is yet to be confirmed the heaviest Indonesian baby born. The baby is still unamed.

According to Binsar Sitanggang, the baby is in a healthy condition despite of initially being given oxygen treatment for his breathing problems. The reason why the baby grew so big is due to an increase in glucose level of the diabetic mother during its pregnancy according to this article that I had read online. Moreover, the ceasarian operation was tough due to the baby's size and thanks to the almighty that the operation was succesfully done.

I heard about this story in the media recently and being a mother myself it has sent chills up my spine - imagine carrying the child in your belly.

OMG! 19lbs????!!!! I hope the mother is recovering okay! Instead of giving birth to a newborn it seems more like giving birth to a toddler! I wonder how big he's gonna get before he starts crawling and walking! Could u imagine having to carry him when he can't walk yet? My goodness! Amazing!!! I can't even imagine! Could she even walk after like...the 2nd trimester???
