The 1st birthday party is always the most special. Especially for the parents. Although the baby won't remember the party, but enjoy it at the time, you want it to be the best for your special little one. For this special birthday, why not ask your guest to bring something symbolic as your child's gift? These gifts should be symbolic of what the person giving sees in the child or wants for the child. These items don't necessarily have to be something the child can have right then, in which case that person needs to bring a toy also. But items that aren't age appropriate or would be a safety hazard need to be used for the picture taking time only. Take pictures of each person with your child and their symbolic gift.
