1st Birthday Party

The 1st birthday party is always the most special. Especially for the parents. Although the baby won't remember the party, but enjoy it at the time, you want it to be the best for your special little one. And you want it to be the best for the pictures and videos that will be taken. You want it to be the best for the memories.

1st Birthday Party Memory Making Mission

For this special birthday, why not ask your guest to bring something symbolic as your child's gift? These gifts should be symbolic of what the person giving sees in the child or wants for the child. These items don't necessarily have to be something the child can have right then, in which case that person needs to bring a toy also. But items that aren't age appropriate or would be a safety hazard need to be used for the picture taking time only. Take pictures of each person with your child and their symbolic gift. Later put these in a scrapbook and write a little blurb for each one as to what the present means. For this 1st birthday party, of course have toys and regular gifts to give to the baby. But make some memories too while you're at it. Some ideas would be something like a stuffed toy horse from Uncle Randy who wants his nephew to be a cowboy. Or a book from Aunt Sally who wants her niece to be an avid reader. A soft plush doctor set from Grandpa who wishes for the little one to grow up to be a doctor.

Be sure to get your special gifts as well. What 1st birthday party would be complete without gifts from Mom and Dad? Maybe your gift should be something to symbolize your religion or your ethics. You can also gifts that are symbolic of qualities you want your child to posses, such as:

  • An hour glass to represent patience
  • A compass to represent your child choosing the right path in life
  • A map to represent how you will guide your child
  • A red rose to represent the love your will child with get and give throughout life
  • A child's first Bible to represent the child's walk with God

1st Birthday Party Planning

Once you have your plan for making this "big 1" as special as you can, then set a date and send out Invitations. You can do this easily and quickly at Events Listed. Post the date, time, theme, messages, etc. right here online and allow for your guest to respond back to you online as to if they are attending or not. Make this part easy on yourself as you have a lot of other work to do. After the 1st birthday party is over and you have some time, why not post those pictures online on your party page? You'll be able to do that. Then those who participated in making some symbolic and meaningful memories can see how the pictures turned out. Then into the scrapbook they go for your little one to see and understand one day - and probably get a good laugh.
