I’m really curious to see how exactly Mr. Obama would “spread the wealth around” in a culture that values individualism and entrepreneurship. Mr. Obama’s spreading of wealth sounds like going against basic American values. And didn't we already nationalized the economy "faster than you can say Ugo Chavez?" Now we only need to devide the wealth--if it's still there--equally, and replace the white stripes with red ones on the Star-Spangled Banner. Then we can call ourselves USSA (for United Soviet States of America).
I must say, at the last presidential debate, Mr. McCain hit the nail on the head with his comment on Mr. Obama’s controversial phrase. Mr. McCain said:
"America didn't become the greatest nation on earth by spreading the wealth; we became the greatest nation by creating new wealth.”

Excellent!!! I loved it! I wish I had been able to see the debate. I recorded it, but had some technical difficulties with my sat. system. It's gone, and will never be gotten back. Gotta find it on the internet, I guess!
Australia has been watching the American elections like a hawk for many years, hoping you would see what is bloody obvious and get rid of a few bent politicians.
Most Australians, English German, Dutch, European, Asian and even the French hate Bush's guts in the main, and many hate Americans for voting for him.America never notices this, because Americans only watch American TV. America has bullied all it's "friends" for years. and we are well over it. Two bloody wars in my lifetime, both started with lies by America.You will find better analysis of the American economy in Australia than in America. Australians just don't get the nationalist fervor that many of you call Patriotism.And who died and left you the title of "The worlds greatest nation." America apparently can't even feed it's poor, and it has been like that since I first visited in 1977.

We as a nation need to get our act (back) together so we can hold our head up high in the world -- because we don't own that world, we are merely citizens of it, just like everyone else.

Let's see.....Rush Limbaugh is reviled for his comments about hoping for Obama fails, yet it is okay for the extreme vitriol that is expressed towards Bush.
They are both politicians and ultimately act the same. Just are viewed from different angles. The culture is what corrupts and until the cesspool in Washington is cleaned up by the voters it will continue to do so with disastorous results. Obama is not the answer, we have already seen that with his payback to his cronies with the "stimulus package". He is in way over his head. And we thought Jimmy Carter was incompotent. Just wait til the end of Obama's first term. It won't come soon enough most people will soon realize. Hopefully the country can survive that long.
Someday voters will awaken to the fact that the president has little control over the thugs and gangsters in Congress. My apologies to the Mafia for the analogy.
