There has been a lot of churn in the off-season 2009 NCAA recruiting class. Kansas comes into the 2009-10 college basketball season fully loaded from last year with start freshman Xavier Henry to give them some more power at the wing and 2 guard position. Kentucky has made the biggest jump since last season with Coach Calipari signing one of the best recruiting classes in Wildcat History. The following is a preseason "Top 10" for NCAA basketball. All rankings are my opinion. Leave a comment if you disagree!

2009 PreseasonCollege Basketball Rankings

2009 PreseasonCollege Basketball – No. 1 Kansas

Bill Self is heading into the 2009-10 season fully loaded with his talent from last year as well as another great recruiting class headlined by star shooting guard, Xavier Henry. Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich told the NBA to wait a year while they try to come back and win an NCAA Basketball title.

2009 PreseasonCollege Basketball – No. 2 Kentucky

The Wildcats will have one of the strongest front courts in the country with Patrick Patterson, DeMarcus Cousins, and Daniel Orton to go with the top rated point guard prospect in the country, John Wall who is already projected to be drafted in the NBA lottery in 2010.

2009 PreseasonCollege Basketball – No. 3 Villanova

Scottie Reynolds coming back instantly put Nova in the Top 5 and made them favorites to win the Big East.

2009 PreseasonCollege Basketball – No. 4 Michigan State

Michigan State has three of their starters returning this season and are the preseason favorites for the Big 10. Look for Coach Izzo to take them deep in the 2010 NCAA tournament again.

2009 PreseasonCollege Basketball – No. 5 North Carolina

Ed Davis and Deon Thompson are back along with highly touted recruits John Henson and Leslie McDonald to lead the Tar Heels in their National Title defense this season.

2009 PreseasonCollege Basketball – No. 6 Purdue

All of their starters are back along with JaJuan Johnson which will give State some competition in the Big 10 this season.

2009 PreseasonCollege Basketball – No. 7 Texas

Avery Bradley and Jordan Hamilton will be leading the Longhorns this year in their efforts to unseat the Jayhawks atop the Big 12.

2009 PreseasonCollege Basketball – No. 8 West Virginia

Joe Mazzulla and Devin Ebanks will be leading the Mountaineers this year with Ebanks expected to be a first round draft pick when he goes pro.

2009 PreseasonCollege Basketball – No. 9- Ohio State

B.J. Mullens is gone, but Evan Turner is back with several of the other starters from last year's squad.

2009 PreseasonCollege Basketball – No. 10- Washington

Abdul Gaddy is the best point guard in the 2009 NCAA recruiting class this side of John Wall. With UCLA down a bit and USC self-imploding this season, look for Washington to be on top in the PAC-10 for the 2009-10 NCAA basketball season.
