The Philadelphia Phillies have won the National League (NL) title for the second year in a row.  Philadelphia is excited about this consecutive win!  Hard to believe that just a few years ago the Philadelphia Phillies were one of the city's under performing teams, but not anymore.  Now the Phillies are the professional sports team in the City of Brotherly Love that fans cheers for with their heads held up high. 

Manny Ramirez and the Los Angeles Dodgers didn't have a chance to play in Los Angeles as much as they might have liked due to the Phillies winning that series as soon as possible.  Now it is time to sit back and watch the Los Angeles Angels (another L.A. team) try to get to the 2009 World Series by beating the New York Yankees.

This past week I wrote an article about the upcoming 2009 World Series and was surprised to learn that the New York Yankees have made it to the World Series more than any other professional baseball team.  In fact, the Yankees have competed in the World Series 39 times.  They have won the World Series 26 times.  Having baseball players like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter on the team over the years doesn't hurt.

It was surprising when the Los Angeles Angels won the baseball game between them and the New York Yankees the other night.  Curious to know if tonight's game will be postponed due to the weather. It has been raining off and on most of the day here in the Northeast.  It started to rain harder as night began to fall in the area. 

Do you think that the extended rest will be good for the Philadelphia Phillies and give them a slight edge in the World Series regardless of who they play?  Has anyone here ever attended a World Series in person?  I know that tickets to the regular season professional baseball games can be pricey.  I can only imagine at the price for a ticket to see a World Series baseball game.

Who are you rooting for in the World Series if you keep up with baseball, even if you only keep up with the sport during the postseason.  I remember the days when the Cincinnati Reds were champions of the game.  It's been several years since they made their way to the World Series.  That's when my appreciation for baseball started.  My grandfather used to love to watch the Cincinnati Reds play baseball throughout the season.  He was a big fan of the team.  Soon I was rooting for the Cincinnati Reds too.

Wow!  The rain is coming down so hard here that it sounds like pellets are hitting my kitchen window.  I live about two hours from New York City's Manhattan, so I imagine that their weather is similar to the weather we are having here in Philly.

Whoever you are rooting for, I hope that you enjoy watching the games.  I think this is going to turn out to be a great World Series, full of excitement and wonder.
