The 2010 cars are here! There are a lot of interesting auto models with almost something for everyone. Check out the buzz in new and redesigned cars for 2010 model year in the following categories – Sports cars, Passenger cars, Hybrid vehicles, SUVs, and Minivans & vans.


1. New Sports Cars for 2010

Redesigned sports cars for 2010 include Ford Mustang, Ford Shelby GT500, Mazda Mazdaspeed3 and Volkswagen GTI. The following 2010 sports cars are making their debut.


Chevrolet Camaro:
The all new Camaro for 2010 is the first Camaro from Chevrolet since 2002. Notable features include rear-wheel drive, v-6 or v-8 engine, manual or automatic with paddle shifters, v-8 hits 60mph in 4.7 seconds, standard electronic stability system and futuristic styling based on 1969 Camaro. The Camaro is available in LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS and 2SS trim levels and competes with other retro-inspired muscle coupes including the Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang.


Hyundai Genesis Coupe:
Genesis Coupe is the new sport coupe for 2010 from Hyundai. Notable features include rear-wheel drive, turbo four-cylinder or V-6, seating for four and 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Positioned as an affordable sports car, the Genesis coupe is in a price class with the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, Nissan 370Z and such.

Porsche Panamera:
The 2010 Panamera is a new four-door performance hatchback from Porsche, a German automaker. Notable features include 400- or 500-hp V-8 engine, seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, RWD or AWD and seats four. Competitors include the Maserati Quattroporte, Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class and Audi S8.

2. New Passenger Cars for 2010

Redesigned passenger cars for 2010 include Buick LaCrosse, Ford Fusion, Ford Taurus, Jaguar XF, Lincoln MKZ, Mazda Mazda3, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Mercury Milan, Subaru Legacy, Subaru Outback, Toyota Camry and Volkswagen Golf. The following 2010 passenger cars are making their debut.


Kia Forte:
The Forte is Kia's new entry in the compact-car segment. It is offered in LX, EX and SX trim levels notably with 156- or 173-hp four-cylinder engine, standard electronic stability system, standard USB port for MP3 players, and strong warranty. Competitors include the Honda Civic, Ford Focus and Toyota Corolla.


Kia Soul:
Kia debuts in the boxy wagon segment with the all new 2010 Soul. It is offered in base, Soul+, Soul!, and Sport trim levels with notable features such as manual or automatic, boxy youthful styling, standard stability system, standard USB/iPod compatibility and available backlit speakers. It competes with models like the Honda Element and Scion xB.

Lexus HS 250h:
The HS 250h is Lexus’ first dedicated hybrid - a model that's not available in gas-only form. It is also the most affordable hybrid from Lexus to date. Notable features include leather seats, enform/safety connect available, seats five and cabin uses bio-plastics. There are no comparable models from luxury brands, so the HS will compete with any other small, efficient luxury car, like the Acura TSX and the clean-diesel BMW 335d.

Lexus IS 250C and IS 350C:
Available with either a 2.5- or 3.5-liter V-6, the IS convertible — denoted IS 250C or IS 350C — has a retractable hardtop that Lexus says can operate in just 21 seconds. The four-seat interior features anti-glare gauges, plus audio and climate systems that automatically adjust their settings to compensate for top-down noise and temperatures. Other safety and luxury features remain similar to those on the IS 250 and IS 350 sedans.

3. New Hybrid Cars for 2010

Redesigned hybrid cars for 2010 include Lexus RX 450h, Toyota Camry Hybrid, and Toyota Prius. The following 2010 hybrid cars are making their debut.


Ford Fusion Hybrid:
The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid is based on the redesigned 2010 Ford Fusion. Notable features include gas/electric drivetrain, LCD gauges and 700-mile-plus range in city driving on one tank of gas. Its sibling is the Mercury Milan Hybrid.


Honda Insight:
The 2010 Honda Insight is a dedicated hybrid model with hatchback body style. There are two trim levels, LX and EX, differentiated more by features than by appearance. It features a small four-cylinder engine plus electric motor. It is intended to beat the Toyota Prius in terms of price and just about every non-hybrid in terms of mileage.

Mercury Milan Hybrid:
The Milan hybrid is the first hybrid car from Mercury. Notable features include the ability to travel up to 47 mph on electric power, driver-configurable LCD instruments, optional 8-inch navigation screen and standard stability system. Its sibling is the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid.

4. New SUVs for 2010

Redesigned SUVs for 2010 include Audi Q7, Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Equinox, Lexus RX 350, Lexus RX 450h, Mazda CX-7, and Mazda CX-9. The following 2010 SUVs are making their debut.


GMC Terrain:
The all new Terrain for 2010 is GMC’s equivalent to Chevrolet Equinox. It comes in front- or all wheel drive with a four-cylinder or V-6 engine. Major competitors include the Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V.

Land Rover LR4:
The Land Rover LR3 becomes LR4 for 2010. It comes with a larger and more powerful V-8 engine, standard 4WD and seats five or seven. It competes with the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz M-Class and Lexus GX 470.


Lincoln MKT:
The new Lincoln MKT for 2010 model year has seating for six or seven with an optional refrigerator. Other notable features are optional 355-hp, twin-turbo V-6 engine and FWD or AWD. The MKT shares its platform with the Ford Flex, but has significantly different exterior styling and a more luxurious interior.


Volvo XC60:
The all new 2010 Volvo XC60 is a small SUV powered by 281-hp turbo six-cylinder engine, providing five seats with standard AWD. It also comes fitted with standard city safety collision avoidance system and competes with other premium entries, like the Acura RDX and Land Rover LR2.

5. New Vans and Minivans for 2010

Ford Transit Connect: It's a small commercial van Ford introduced in Europe and other markets in 2003, but new the U.S. for 2010. Notable features include cargo or passenger configurations, 135 cubic feet of cargo volume, four-cylinder engine and mid-20s highway mileage.

The Genesis is soo cool! It cost less than a mustang and camaro....has the same hp and is lighter/more responsive!
