The very basic survival skills are going to be needed if you hope to make it through. Learn survival skills and practice them often. Teach other people the skills as well.

Know all you can about your geographic location. Find out the necessary skills for surviving there. Learn and practice them until you have them mastered. Learn all methods not just one or two. Do not wait to start learning these methods. If you figure out something new, teach it to others.

Learn to control your emotional and mental state. Remaining calm during stressful events often means the difference between life and death for those involved. Try to gain an understanding of what exactly is happening.

Determine your priorities and stick to them. A time will come when priorities will change. Make the changes are required by the situation.

Food, water and shelter are the very basic essentials for survival. When these events become more frequent, those who have all 3 essentials will be rich in terms of survival.

You might be lucky enough to find a religious community that will assist in providing these items for you. However, the price may be praying to their god and changing your beliefs. If necessary, do as they ask until you are able to leave.

Be leery, groups like this prey on the needy.

If you find yourself in this situation, do not try to play hero by trying to set them free. Worry about your own business.
