April 26 - May 2
SHASTA
- Want to experience some underground fun? Be sure to visit Lake Shasta Caverns on Shasta Lake.
- Experience the history of the gold rush in the Shasta State Historic Park in Old Shasta by visiting the restored museum and other shops.
- Looking for ways to spend a great day outside? Burney Falls State Park is home to one of the most beautiful waterfalls the North State.
TRINITY
- Be sure to check out the Weaverville Joss House State Park, it’s the oldest active Chinese temple in California.
- Looking for an adventure? Several rafting companies offer adventures on the wild and scenic Trinity river.
- Walk on the Natural Bridge and enjoy the history it has to offer. Names of pioneer’s can be seen engraved in the limestone.
SISKIYOU
- Join an experienced outfitter and take a canoe ride down the Klamath River.
- Looking for a relaxing day on the green? Mount Shasta Resort offers 18 holes of golfing fun with majestic Mt. Shasta as the backdrop.
- Avid birders can view a variety of wildlife at the Upper Klamath Basin and Klamath Wildlife Refuges.
MODOC
- Take in the natural beauty of remote areas by driving along beautiful scenic byways - the Modoc Volcanic Scenic Byway or the Emigrant Trails Scenic Byway.
- Want to go birdwatching or just enjoy the surrounding wildlife? Go visit the Modoc National Wildlife Refuge.
- Visit the Modoc County Museum to gain a better understanding of the land.
LASSEN
- Immerse yourself in the beauty of Eagle Lake; it’s a great place to go fishing or picnic.
- Come get a helping of Lassen County history, the William H. Pratt Museum showcases exhibits spanning the last 170 years of Susanville history.
- The Ash Creek Wildlife Area offers great birdwatching with over 14,000 acres of marshlands and fields.
PLUMAS
- Be a conductor for the day at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum.
- Looking for a nice area to relax and have a picnic? Chester Park, on Hwy. 36 along the Feather River is the place to go.
- Take an off-road adventure with a detailed map outlining 83 routes available at the Plumas Co. Visitors Bureau.
BUTTE
- Witness a real authentic old time western town by visiting Gold Trader Flat & Yuba-Feather Historical Museum.
- Walk across California’s first suspension bridge, the Bidwell Bar Suspension Bridge.
- Like sailing or windsurfing? The North Forebay is the place for you. It is ranked as the best sailing/windsurfing north of the Bay Area.
TEHAMA
- Like Olives? Why not pay a visit to the Olive Pit in Corning, and if Olives aren’t your thing they have plenty more tasty treats sure to tickle your taste buds.
- Try out a South Shasta Model Railroad Tour, the model is built to a ¼” to 1’ scale detailing the travel from Gerber to Dunsmuir.
- Take a drive through downtown Red Bluff and enjoy the beautiful Victorian architecture.

SHASTA

TRINITY
- Take a trip to Weaverville and see the city’s many historic buildings from 150 years ago. These buildings today have been converted into new businesses, but their historic roots still remain.
- Join Nor-Cal Trail Rides for great horseback riding throughout Trinity Co. and its surroundings.
- Go backpacking in the Trinity Alps and see some of the most beautiful views the county has to offer!
SISKIYOU
- Want to immerse yourself in Gold Rush History? Check out the Siskiyou County Courthouse in Yreka which boasts the largest gold display south of Alaska!
- Visit the tallest flag pole west of the Mississippi located in Dorris, buried in 22 feet of concrete this behemoth can withstand winds of 100 mph and supports a flag 30 feet by 60 feet.
- In the heart of Mt. Shasta City you can step over the great Sacramento River. At the Mt. Shasta City Park you can see the headwaters that never stop flowing, even in the driest of seasons.
MODOC
- Visit the Warner Mountains, a beautiful spur of the Cascade Mountain Range. The mountains tower over Surprise Valley to the East and Goose Lake to the West, making for breath taking views.
- Looking for some Native American history and culture? Go see the rock art in Lava Beds National Monument.
- Visit the Site of the Tule Lake Relocation Center in Newell, to relive some of America’s darker history.
LASSEN

- Pay a visit to Eagle Lake, just 15 miles north of Susanville. The lake plays host to many activities some of which are: camping, boating, bicycling, fishing and picnicking. For more info call (530) 257-6952
PLUMAS
- Go see some of Plumas County’s best antique shopping at these three great locations The Hummingbird Antiques & Collectibles, Connie's Place and Maybe Antiques Collectibles.
- Join Tributary Whitewater Tours for a great rafting adventure down the Feather River.
- Take a hike on the beautifully scenic Round Lake Loop Trail. The trail is approximately 3.75 miles long and takes about 3 hrs. to complete and it offers great views and some nice relaxing areas to have a picnic.
BUTTE
- Chico is full of art – Check out some of the 40 murals Chico has painted all over town.
- Tour Historic Gridley – Make a left on Hazel St. off Hwy. 99 and you will be transported into another time. The streets are lined with 19th century homes and if you drive far enough you will find yourself in Gridley’s beautiful business district.
- Drive into Paradise on the Skyway out of Chico and you will be met with beautiful views of Butte Creek Canyon, what many call the “Little Grand Canyon.”
TEHAMA
- Hike through the Ishi Wilderness’ 41,000 acres of beautiful country featuring basaltic outcroppings, caves, and pillar lava formations.
- Saturday, April 18th at 10:00a.m. the Red Bluff Round-Up Parade begins winding its way through downtown Red Bluff.
- Spend some time at the Corning Museum where you can see artifacts that represent the cultural heritage of Corning and Tehama County specifically and Northern California in general.
