I have searched high and low to bring you these tips to cure your dog’s bad breath. I believe that you will be able to use at least one of the tips mentioned in this article to effectively remedy your dog’s bad breath.

1. Physical Check

The first thing you want to do is you want to have a quick look inside your dog’s mouth and see if there is anything stuck between the teeth which may be causing the foul smell, since it could be some stubborn food particles causing all this fuss, and by simply removing them you can get rid of your dog’s bad breath.

Whilst you are looking inside your dog’s mouth, also have a look at the state of the teeth to see if there are any visible signs of plaque/decay or any rotten teeth.

You may also want to look at the gums. Healthy gums are coral pink in colour, so if you see a deep red or bright red colour then you may need to seek professional advice on this.

2. Visit to the Vet

When was the last time you took your dog to the vet? If you have not visited the vet for a long time then it may be a good idea to visit the vet for a general check up as it may uncover any underlying issue. For example, a dog suffering from kidney problems may not show any clinical signs apart from bad breath until 70% damage has occurred, so it’s always worth getting expert help.

Also, most vets recommend an annual cleaning for all dogs to help prevent tooth decay and lost teeth. It can also be of good assistance when dealing with bad dog

3. Brushing The Teeth With Petrodex Dental Kit for Dogs

This is one of the basic things you can do to try and curb your dog’s bad breath.

Dog teeth are very similar to human teeth in many ways, how would our teeth be if we did not brush our teeth for a month? Not good to say the least!

Similarly, if you are not brushing your dog’s teeth then this may be one of the major reasons for the bad breath. Now, you can take your dog regularly to the vet for a clean however that you may prove quite expensive. We recommend that you do it yourself, since there are many good quality tooth brushes and pastes especially formulated for dogs.

Note: Do not use a brush and paste which are designed for humans, a lot of

people do that, but the truth is that it does more harm than good, since you will not be able to get your dog to spit out the paste and it will end up getting swallowed which is not good for your dog’s health

When starting to brush your dog’s teeth, if the dog is not used to brushing he/she will not like it if you go in with a full on brush, so gently start off with the finger brush, and only gently clean the front teeth, only after he/she gets used to it then move on to a full clean.
