2 Favorite Fall Festivals in Mobile, AL: Greek Fest & the Alabama Pecan Festival
Greek Fest
Greek Fest is one of the most popular and well-attended festivals in Mobile, Alabama. The festival is held each year on the first Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in November by the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
If you love Greek food, you'll be delighted by the many wonderful dishes you'll be able to sample at this fun fall festival event. Attendees can choose from among many great dishes, including lamb and chicken prepared in traditional Greek style, Calimari, Gyros, Spanikopita, Souvlakia, and much more.
If you have a sweet tooth, you'll be delighted by the separate bakery line. Consider trying one of the assorted pastry plates that features Baklava, Kourambiedes, Almond Cookie, and Koulourakia. You can also get freshly prepared Loukoumades, which are wonderful Greek honey covered doughnuts topped off with a sprinkling of powdered sugar. Pick up a bottle of Greek wine to enjoy with your meal.
Terrific food is one of the main draws to this festival, but it's certainly not the only reason to attend. Throughout the three day event, visitors can enjoy entertainment provided by bands that play Greek music and Hellenic dancers. There are also a number of vendors on site for those who enjoy shopping, and guided tours of the church are provided.

Alabama Pecan Festival
The Alabama Pecan Festival is held the first weekend in November on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Since Alabama is well known as a great place for growing and harvesting pecans, this festival is a natural fit for the area. It's put on every year by the Tillman's Corner Chamber of Commerce, and active business association representing a number of different companies in the unincorporated part of town known as Tillman's Corner.
The event features carnival rides, a large arts and crafts show, other types of vendor booths, and – of course – a lot of great festival food. If you are a fan of chicken on a stick, funnel cakes, bloomin' onions, and other traditional fair food fare, you'll definitely enjoy visiting the food booths at this event.
Every year, a local young lady is crowned queen of the festival. The event also features a talent show and contest for those who want to show off their musical abilities. Musical entertainment is scheduled throughout the weekend.
