Picking out a good pair of sunglasses can be a very daunting task.  There are so many frames, lenses, colors and styles out there.  Choosing the right piece of eyewear for yourself can be very overwhelming.  However, if you break down your sunglass buying experience into three steps, you can manage it a lot better.  Here are three tips for choosing the right pair of sunglasses.

1. Pick a pair of sunglasses that suit your needs.

The first step of this process is knowing what you need out of your sunglasses.  Are you looking for a pair that you can wear when you are playing sports?  Are you looking for sunglasses to protect your eyes when driving?  Are you just looking for some stylish eyewear?  When you answer this question, you can widdle the field down.  Obviously, if you want sunglasses for sports you can eliminate big, chunky style oriented glasses.  Conversely, if you want sunglasses just for fashion, you can rule out sporty sunglasses with straps and other accessories.

2. Choose a pair of sunglasses that match the shape of your face.

People working at various sunglass outlets can help you with this.  Certain sunglasses frame shapes are made for different face structures.  Someone with a round face isn't going to want smaller sunglasses because it will make your face look fat.  Conversely, someone with a long, thin head doesn't want big sunglasses because they won't fit your face either.  Know the shape of your face and go from there.

3. More expensive isn't always better.

Have an amount you are willing to spend on sunglasses.  Make it a range...lets say $20-$70.  Although there are several outlets that sell "designer" sunglasses, don't be fooled.  I have 2 pairs of Wiley X sunglasses that I've absolutely loved that cost a fraction of what you would pay for these designer sunglasses.  Let your wallet guide the purchase...buy a quality pair of sunglasses like Wiley X, but don't spend a fortune.
