3 of my dogs need new home!!!
673 very special and loving dogs!!
Do you have what it takes to truly love a dog.
Now that I find myself in the position of having to let go of and find homes for 3 of my dogs I have been paying attention to what people say about animals much more closely. I must say it ranges from 1) just not a real animal lover to 2) now they are sick!!!! Truly this has been a real eye opener and an ordeal. One that I am not detached from and looking in but directly involved and emotionally vested.
First for the real important personal side of this hub. The 3 dogs are really mine and truly do need new homes. As many of my readers know I am disabled and find that I can no longer properly care for the number of dogs I maintain neither physically or mentally. It really stresses me mentally to know I want more for them and can no longer give it to them. The runs in the park or the open lots, lakes, walks, etc that I always did with them have come to an end. This is not fair to them. Though they would adjust they deserve better and I want them to have it.
Baby-D is epileptic and requires 2 doses of meds daily to avoid seizures. Otherwise he is a happy, extremely energetic and loving dog. Moto and Loca are litter brothers and were the only 2 of that litter. They are happy and healthy active dogs. If you seriously feel you can offer any of them a good loving home PLEASE contact me so we can arrange a meeting and talk.
Now moving right along, what is with the far too many people that cannot see dogs or animals as one of God's creatures with albeit lower than a human's but never the less real, feelings, pain thresholds, need for love and so much more. They see them as animals and not anything more. That word has no meaning or feeling to them. I have been shocked and astonished by the coldness and detachment of so many when animals are involved.
I am not even going to go as far as the extremes with what must be mental dysfunctions. Those that are capable of unreal cruelties and brutality but ordinary what I thought to be caring people. People I spoke with regularly and had no clue that they saw animals, especially dogs for some reason, as less than a creature of God deserving of love and kindness. That they also felt that people who did treat them with extra love and showed them special attention, i.e. allowed to sit or lay on sofa or heaven forbid the bed, as some kind of sick person that needed to get their thoughts inline with the real world.
I never use names but this is a crying shame and so far off base. Because you do not love animals as much or the same as another does not mean they need to be brought back to earth and get their head checked.
Animals of all kinds require proper training and handling and one should know what they are doing when they take on a pet or exotic animal of any kind but you should also realize it is a living breathing creature of God's and respect it as such. If for whatever reason you are not capable of loving and caring for an animal properly, do not get one. Now, not all people want their pets on their furniture, this is not the person I am referring to nor do all people kiss their pet's, again that is a personal preference. I am referring to being able to convey tender love and care in an appropriate manner to maintain a healthy life for the animal. If you see them as beasts not worthy of the same air you breath you are outside the limitations of acceptable behavior, for me.
I will let this be a part one of this subject and go further into my thoughts of people and the lack of tolerance for the many creatures God has created and we share this earth with. I use the word God because that is how I believe and I accept that others may have other faiths but the fact that a dog, cat, lion, etc. deserves to be treated with a real level of humanity does not change from who you believe created them.
Talk to you soon. Love you all and stay blessed!!
