Movie Review

The movie is adapted from Steve Nile's groundbreaking comic and graces the silver screen with violently red and bloody scenes. For those who have never read the comic, this movie will most definitely sweep you off your feet but otherwise, you may have some criticm and dissatisfaction after all is said and done.

The bad bits first - the slight slice and dice of the storyline causes a sense that something has been left out of the whole plot due to the fact that character development was not wholly explored and vital events as well as explanations were missing. While as a whole, it was not a huge gap, it would have increase the audiences viewing experience had it been included. Why do I know this? Because it had an incredible impact in the comic book which would have undoubtedly been a fantastic addition on the big screen.

The good news - The settings, a white winter wonderland, was perfect to outline the extremely bloody plots and scenes which truly set the movie apart. Also, it accentuates the feeling of loss, helplessness and isolation that the producers were trying to project in the town and its people.

The great news - The Vampires, the blood & the gore are amazing and perfect, full stop. The villainous vamps are exactly portrayed as the comic did so much so that it blows my mind. The blood and gore which violently sprays on scene are gorgeous, no doubt about it with several note-worthy scenes specifically the most brutal decapitations I ever saw and the first invasion of the vampires.

Ultimately, the movie holds its own with a great story, settings, effects and cast. The visual candy provided will please most audiences and leave few of them with anything to complain about. A must-watch horror movie!

Rating: 4 out of 5 - Despite the slight plot dissatisfaction I have, it is an extremely impressive and solid movie that is definitely worth watching on the big screen. Go with your friends to watch a midnight show and enjoy this horror experience like never before.

Great! Excellent review. I love horror flicks especially anything with vampires so I'll definitely go see this.

I really enjoyed this movie. The character decelopment was excellent, the make-up[ and special effects were awesome and the kill scenes were perfect. The one thing I was annoyed with was when one of the vampires walked through the house looking for people all while making rediculous noises and sticking hit tongue out and acting stupid. No need for that.
