4 Natural Acne Remedies
75My grandmother was a big believer in using nature to solve your problems. Her garden was full of herbs, spices and other plants and shrubs that had medicinal properties. She used to try out lots and lots of natural remedies and other inhabitants of our village use to visit her and ask for remedies and solutions to their problems. She used to keep detailed notes about some of her findings, and it is from one of these books that I discovered these natural acne remedies.
I have not tried these acne remedies myself, but other remedies that my grandmother gave me for different complaints did appear to work. Also, looking at photos of her when she was a teenager, it is obvious that she herself had very clear skin. Perhaps she used her natural remedies for acne
Natural remedy for acne
According to my grandmother, dandelion root tea is one of the best natural remedies for reducing spots and pimples. Simply drink two cups of tea made from the roots of the dandelion (available form health food stores and online), either side of breakfast, making sure that you sip the brew slowly. This natural pimple remedy should reduce the acne and prevent it returning in such a severe way.
Natural Home Acne Remedy: Horseradish
Horseradish used to appear in lots of my grandmother's cures, and it is an essential ingredient in this remedy to cure acne. Mix grated horseradish with wine vinegar and allow to stand in a bottle for two weeks. After that time has passed, apply to the face as a face mask on the acne affected areas. Do this both morning and night and, apparently, your acne will be cured if the process is adhered to for a month.
Nettle Tea - one of the best natural remedies to cure acne
My grandmother saw nettle tea as the most important herbal remedy for just about every ailment. Her favourite of all the natural acne remedies was to drink tea made from nettle leaves four times a day. In her notebook she also wrote that the nettle tea will more effectively get rid of pimples if it is taken in conjunction with some dietary changes. She thought that someone suffering with spots should also reduce their intake in rich foods.
Homemade natural acne remedies - do they work?
As I've said before, I can't guarantee that any of these acne remedies will work for everyone. I haven't tried them. Everybody's skin is different. If you are concerned about the affects of one of these natural remedies for treating acne, it is probably a good idea to talk things through with your dermatologist before trying anything yourself. In addition, there are lots of natural acne remedies available online, manufactured by using natural ingredients. If you don't want to try to cure your pimples using homemade remedies, perhaps these will suit you better.
