Banana nut bread recipes have been around for a long, long time. A favorite among many families. They are easy to prepare and are very nutritious, so much so that some overlook the important health benefits associated with bananas.
Bananas are packed with vitamin b6, a water soluble vitamin also referred to as b complex, helping body to converts carbohydrates into glucose (sugar), which is "burned" to produce energy. It also helps metabolize fats and proteins. This important vitamin also promotes the health of the nervous system, skin, hair, eyes, mouth, and liver.
Another important nutrient found in bananas is Vitamin C. Again, water soluble and essential for the production of bones and connective tissue. It also helps with the absorption of iron.
The most popular vitamin associated with bananas is potassium chloride. Potassium promotes a healthy cardiovascular system and relegate body balance. It is considered a natural diuretic.
I hope you take advantage of this highly nutritious fruit and have fun baking a delicious banana nut bread recipe. Enjoy!

Funny, cuz i was just eating banana bread five minutes ago! Im always looking for receipes that have a high banana content in them and a lower sugar content then regular cake. These seem to fit the bill, cant wait to try em!
Recipes sound great--going to try a couple and see how they compare to my own favorite. Thumbs up!!
These look delicious. Would they work in a bread machine do you think?
There is only one way to find out, just prepare it as you would any other bread recipe. I guess it also depends on your brad machine settings, if you have a setting that does not require the dough to rise, I can't see why not, but test and you will see. Let me know!
Ah, Banana Bread. Makes me a little teary eyed. My mom used to make me banana bread when i was younger. I'm gonna have to try some of these recipes!
this is great, here in Davao City Philippines we have a lot of Bananas. This is one of my favorites, thanks for the recipes i should try these. I have one favorite recipe for banana "the banana delight" you should try it too.

I really love banana nut bread but it is one thing that I have never made.
These recipes look great!! My kids love bananas so I'm always looking for new recipes to use for the bananas when they get ripe and the kids are tired of eating them. I'll be sure to try a couple of these.
Chantel, great collection! I wonder if you've tried any of these with whole wheat flour (or a portion of ww flour) instead of white flour? Thanks! - Deb
Mmm - my mouth's watering! I can't wait to try this out!

Banana nut is my favorite breakfast bread. It's the only thng that I can't pass up when I go into a Starbucks, and I wish we made it more at home. I'll have to print this one out.
In your picture, did you have to go and put butter on top of it? I mean, banana nut bread (made right) is incredibly delicious on it's own, but butter brings it up to a whole 'nother level! I was trying to keep from eating tonight, but now I'm jonesin' for some heavily buttered banana nut bread!
Great hub, thanks for sharing!
You are so right, but it is soooo good when the bread is still warm and lightly or heavily buttered, one of those sins! lol
I would not have believed you can have so many variations of the ordinary old banana loaf. I love the one with the chips. Thanks

- Slashfood Ate (8): Gourmet coffee at home
Filed under: Teas, Coffee, Slashfood AteThis recent post about Starbucks - as with most posts about Starbucks - caused the typical coffee cacophony over price and quality. Although I happen to like Starbucks just fine, I certainly appreciate a good homemade cup. Unfortunately, quality espresso machines are pricey and people rarely use them enough to meet their ROI ('Fess up: How many of you have a schmancy DeLonghi at home, but still go to Starbucks every day?). As a veteran barista (of both indie and corporate coffeehouses), I've come up with a stock of supplies to help make gourmet coffee at home.Espresso drinks: Moka pot (like this one from Bialetti): Many Italians still brew their espresso the old-fashioned way -- on the stovetop. The pot steeps espresso grounds in boiling water until the bubbles force the creamy coffee into the top of the Moka. Pour it out, and there's your shot. Milk Frother (like this one from Aerolatte): This bad boy has a high-speed whisker that whips any kind of milk into foamy shape. (For a cappuccino, use half steamed milk/half foam; for a latte, use mainly steamed milk, with a layer of foam on top). - A sour cherry cocktail
Filed under: Teas, Whisky, Recipes, Fruit, America, Spirits, Ingredient Spotlight, Guilty Pleasures, SummerOver the past few summers, cherry-based cocktails have become something of a signature for me, to the point whereupon being proposed to in mid-July a few years back, I immediately began pulping and freezing cherries for use in our wedding cocktails the following October. Fresh cherries have a cruelly short season, and I do my best to make the most of every phase from sour to Rainier to Bing. Each has a distinct level of sweetness and depth of flavor and is complemented by different suites of ingredients. Rich, dark Bings stand up to wood smoking and full-bodied lemon and limeades, but tender, young sour cherries seem a natural fit for a subtly refreshing sweet iced tea. Oh - and booze.Recipe follows after the jump.Continue reading A sour cherry cocktailPermalink | Email this | Comments - 39 years ago
- Cheap Healthy Good selects foods worth the splurge
Filed under: On the Blogs, ListsOver at Cheap, Healthy, Good, they're usually pretty concerned with helping you find ways to lower your grocery bill. You can find posts on how to save, as well as how to make that inexpensive stuff into tasty meals. However, even a blog dedicated to being thrifty acknowledges that there are some things you just need to pay more for. This post is about ten categories of foodstuff for which you simply must buy the top quality brand. The list includes cheese, with which I wholeheartedly agree, and store bought tomato sauce, which I'm in partial agreement. Never, in my opinion, get cheap cheese, but I find that I don't really use tomato sauce so I guess this one doesn't apply. Other highlights are chocolate and beer, both of which get an emphatic nod: both items are a luxury, so if you must indulge get something worth indulging in.The post is interesting and amusing, but everyone has their own version of this list. What items do you absolutely have to have brand name for?Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments - 39 years ago
