Nausea And Vomiting - Definition & Symptoms

Nausea (a feeling of sickness) and vomiting are symptoms of various disorders, which may include indigestion, food poisoning, gallstones, liver disease, pancreatitis, hiatus hernia, excessive food intake, excessive alcohol intake, migraine, inner ear infection, or gastroenteritis. Hormonal changes may also be the cause of nausea and vomiting, such as in pregnancy, menstruation, travel, or by certain sights & smells. Mausea may be accompanied by feelings of dizziness or faintness. Vomiting is usually preceded by nausea, and may be accompanied by excessive salivation, sweating, and a slowing of the heart rate.

If you are experiencing a constant feeling of nausea with no vomiting, but with abdominal pain and headache, it is most likely due to stress or anxiety.

ATTENTION

If nausea or vomiting are accompanied by severe pain that lasts longer than ONE HOUR, or if there are blood stains in your vomit, seek urgent medical advice!

Awesome, AEvans! Thanks for the tips, and thanks for the nice comments :) I will certainly keep the peppermint & warm broth remedies in mind! I love making different kinds of tea... maybe I'll try making a peppermint tea.
