5 Little Known Things about Making Money with Adsense
73Millions of web pages and blogs are monetized with Google Adsense program. However, only 10% earn money substantially to reach the threshold of $100 a month. Google Adsense is a great way to monetize your web page or blog, because you don't need to do anything at all - other than 'copying and pasting the adsense code'. Every user wants to earn at least $100 a month from Adsense, which is the threshold of Google's paycheck. Only if you know few things about Adsense, you will earn money from it.
Here's a list of five things about Making Money with Adsense that you probably were not aware of. Make use of these tips and earn more money with Adsense on your hub pages and blogs.

1. No clicks = Poor Rating:
Tired of seeing low rates for clicks? Sometimes, you will even get $0.01 per click which is very poor. This means Google Adsense has rated your website as "POOR" below ordinary and grouped with 'scrap sites'. So, no matter whatever great content you write, you will not earn money from the site. If your adsense ads are not clicked in a website or a blog page, then immediately remove the 'adsense code'. Add your 'adsense code' only when you are confident about people will click on it. Sometimes, choosing such a niche (content type) is the key. For instance, people tend to click ads on review sites, technology sites and download sites.
2. Seasonal Rate Hikes:
This is another gold mine, the ad rates change based on the seasons/holidays. If a Christmas season is nearby, then advertisers will pay more to get the top bids, because of the tight competition. So, you may even get as big as $100 per click (Trust me). How can you take advantage of it? Write seasonal blog posts (or hub pages) and publish them. If Easter holidays are around the corner, then publish something related to Easter. You will get good rates for each click.
3. Know who will click:
Here's a truth - "No one wants to click Adsense ads". People are becoming used to the 'Ad blindness', they ignore seeing anything that looks like Ads. But, then who will click them? People who are searching for something. Or people who don't know much about 'Adsense Ads' or 'Contextual Ads'. How do you find them? You already know them - people whom are living with , your family and relatives. Ask them to visit your hub pages or blogs, don't mention anything about ads.
Run a classified ad in your local newspaper, the people who visit after reading such offline ads see the ads as part of content, so, they are more likely to click on ads.
4. Where is your ads?
Placement of your adsense ads is the key to get more clicks. You have to place it in the middle of the screen. Don't be shy or afraid to place your ads right in the centre. You need to use the same colour scheme to match your website / blog's design scheme. Users should not scroll above or below to see your ads. The ads should be right in front of their eyes. No excuse if you make mistake on this tip.
Unfortunately, some adsense revenue sharing sites such as Hubpages do not allow you to have the control on the colour scheme or placement, but do this if you have a blog or website.
5. Build a reputation:
Believe it or not, every Google Adsense account has a reputation factor. So, do not throw your ads every website or blog page you create. Instead, maintain one good quality page and build a reputation around it. Once you start getting good rates (at least $0.5) for your clicks, you can implement the code on other sites.

Yeah, i agree that adsense earnings should incrase if one can develope quality hub pages.But, as a new hubber(though not new to online field) i think our main aim should be devlop quality and educative articles only to help each other.We should not write only for adsense.But, the article i read quite good, and excellent in approach.Thanks Shailini.

great info. . . I noticed my holiday traffic did pay A LOT more per click
to know the pay per adsense clicks one has to moniter the adsense accounts consistently. So if it shows 0.6 with 2 page clicks and 2.6 with 3 page clicks, you know you have earned 2$ for that click...lol...no rocket science this...but honestly i hv earned just 5-6 $ so far...dont know if its worth the while!

I'm pretty new to adsense, and I just found out you can choose your ads. You can't do that here, because you have to be able to add your own script. That's one reason I want to start doing pages elsewhere, so that I can choose which ads I want on my pages.
I personally don't think you can make good money on adsense. I think affiliate marketing (where they pay you if you sell something) is a much more profitable way to go.
You can make money from Adsense - you just need heaps of traffic.

I guess I am in the minority - I am lucky to have made $134 in adsense clicks last month. I picked a topic that I know a lot about, and that had high adsense clicks - publishers pay $10 or so per click for many phrases in my niche, but I only get about $1 or $2 per click. Anyway, I have about 40 articles on my site - technically blog posts because it's a wordpress blog but I made it look like a website - and I wrote about 40 more articles on ezinearticles to get the search engines to notice me.
Now, I'm not making enough to make a living off of this, but I just created another site and I'm going to try the same thing with a few more sites to see if I can do as well. If I could repeat this a few dozen times over, I would be doing quite well!
That is a GREAT tip to create a site where I could put seasonal articles, to get higher clicks! I'm going to try it.

Ive gotten $1.00 clicks on my blog. Best spots middle of page within your posts. Skyscraper on the right works for me as well.
Some new info about Adsense and some often heard info. I agree that moving toward more affiliate streams of income will be better. I guess my goal is to remove Adsense from my sites when my affiliate income is high enough to warrant it, not yet though.

Great Piece, I warn you now. My largest AdSense click was $23, but I have never seen anything close to that again. I've heard specific law topics (class action asbestos), home business & credit related content carries the highest CPC.
Great hub. Looks like alot of thought has gone into this topic. Just a quick mention about another crowd that, like adsense, do not charge anything to join and actually pay you for your visitors. They pay weekly as well. Check it out.

It's a good article. But the most important thing I've noticed is ad placement. I still can't get good ones and I've been working hard at it for years. Some things to take in mind: 1) the big mdeium rectangle is the most clicked had 2) try to make your ads blend in with your site

Being brand new to HP but not IM, your hubs actually give me something of an idea of the number of pages, time, trust, etc. that eventually reaches critical mass, if I understand this right.
If G doesn't frown on using Adwords to drive traffic to Adsense pages, it should. Why would anybody pay $10 to make hopefully $1?
That $10 will go a whole lot farther promoting magazine articles linking to your hubs or featured US Freeads.

Now, it also helps when you have a large volume of visitors visiting your site, and I agree that add placement is paramount in having a successful Google adsence program. Wish that i could be like you. An earning of $300++ in one day.. It's really feel good. Tha't's the way earning with Adsense, we will see only few cents at the start. Once we put in our effors, the earnings improved and grow bigger. But i am not as lucky as you, having a click with $100 bucks. Are you serious? is there a click with such big payout in Adsense?

And yeah Google can 'smart-price' adsense clicks so that they receive low rates if they're found on low quality landing pages or sites. As a matter-a-fact Google can smart price a whole Adsense account just based on 1 low quality landing page. That's why everyone needs to be very selective about where they choose to place their adsense code. Also Google has a feature called 'allowed sites' when people log into their adsense accounts they can list sites that they give permission to run their ads. This adds more protection from some stray sites falsely running your ad code and jeorpardizing your acount.
'Ad blindness' is unfortunately existing!

Someting that worked for me when my click rate was dropping on a couple of pages was too look to see who was advertising on those pages. I then banned a couple that were showing on both pages and hey presto the money per click has increased dramatically.

Interesting hub. I've gotten from .02 to 2.00 for clicks, and it didn't seem to matter when or where. I mostly get no clicks at all, especially since Hubpages changed their adsense around. I was making more money before, but then, there are those who swear they're making more money now. The "no click" factor is the main reason I'm moving more of my content to other sites.
