As a Scion xB fan, I felt I just couldn't stop with my original list of 10 reasons to love this great vehicle. Here are five more.

1. Sitting in the Back Is as Comfortable as the Front.

I was looking for a car in which guests would be comfy riding in the back. In the Scion xB, I found it.

2. This Car Has Character.

In addition to its cute boxy styling, the xB features multiple storage nooks for items like atlases, ice scrapers, gloves, and mittens. Also in the character department, rests the xB's center-mounted gauge display. Does it sound weird to think of reading your dashboard gauges by glancing right instead of down? It did to me, too. My bride and I quickly got used to it -- no worries.

3. Options Abound.

Plenty of features come packed into the Scion xB for the base price of around $16,000 ($17,000 if you require an automatic transmission) -- features like ABS, and side curtain airbags. That said, the Scion concept pushes customization. The last time I looked, nine different shift knobs were available. You can get LED taillights. How about undercarriage neon tubes that illuminate the road beneath your xB? The list of Scion options is exhaustive, and a good many of them are even practical.

4. Service.

New Scions are only sold at premium, modern Toyota dealerships built for full service. When it's time to take our xB in for a routine visit, I expect to be comfy and confident.

5. They Come in Cool Colors.

Ours is "Blackberry Crush".

A Word of Caution

Another feature that really stands out about the Scion xB is its back half. The rear three windows are tinted, and there is a large panel of metal on each side, between the passenger doors and the tailgate. This combination creates what I call a "virtual trunk" for this crossover sportwagon, especially at night. I like the virtual trunk, but potential owners should be warned that the aforementioned panels provide the vehicle with two exceptional rear blind spots -- one on each side.

It's not an insurmountable obstacle, but you do have to be extra careful when driving in reverse.

Thus far, that is the one drawback I have found in the Scion xB. If you own one, I hope you'll share your thoughts.
