What is the fuss about gray hair? I can hear women shrieking and men dying against it. In this age of expensive image makeover and cosmetic surgery, everyone wants to stay young and look good. Gray hair seems to be the ultimate insult to all of us.

As as person with gray hair, let me categorically state 5 reasons why we should love gray hair.

Need I say more? Who would tease a graying old man when they can call some one else a baldie. No offense to those follicle challenged friends out there. Don't you think that you will prefer to have gray hair than have none at all? After all there is a saying or is it a song that says it is better to have loved than never to have loved at all. So we can say it is better to have hair rather than none at all.

Go on then my graying friends, be proud of your gray mob. Even though it might be thinning a bit.

Many oldies and even youngsters out there dye their hair. It is so unnatural. It could be costly to maintain as well because within a week or so, your natural hair colour will grow from the roots up, unless you wear a dyed wig!

Some (shock horror), would dye their hair with orange, red, blue and even purple. You name it they will dye for it. What a waste of money to look weird when you don't need to pay a single cent to look great with natural gray highlights, be it in strands, streaks or patches.

Natural is the way to go.

The conventional wisdom is that we get wiser as we grow older, ergo with a perfect head of gray, everyone will think you are the ultimate wise one, as in Gandalf. So the grayer we are and the wiser we ought to be, at least that is what we would like others to think. Whether it is true or not is another matter. Shhhhhhh.

As the saying goes, better to keep quiet and be thought as a fool than to confirm it by opening your mouth! The same logic should go for letting other people think that having gray hair is having wisdom. You do not need to open your mouth to disapprove it.

Admittedly, with a well groomed gray mob of hair, everyone will think you have made it in life. Only people who has exceed a certain age can have gray hair, unless you suffer from a disease. Most older well groomed people are reasonably well off, or so many people think. Down and out gray folks have no money to groom theirs. So go with the flow, let everyone think you have arrived. Show off your gray.

Ok, I made that up as I am running out of good reasons to have gray hair. I have never attracted any beautiful and vivacious young lady with my silver top. But I am treated respectfully by younger folks, male or female.

So go on, enjoy life, whether your hair is graying or not, and whether you have hair or not. Unless there are medical reasons that causes your hair to gray prematurely, enjoy your age, grow old gracefully.
