5 Sales Training Tips For Right Now

If you work in a Sales Department and you need to generate your own clients, then you may find it harder than selling in a retail or telesales environment.

Here are 5 Sales Training Tips that will help you to become a better salesperson.

1.Reward yourself for doing well.

If you've finally managed to get through to a decision maker, and have made an appointment, then why not reward yourself. The reward could be anything, from a drink to buying yourself something nice. As you become more skilled in selling you may find yourself sick of the sight of coffee, or spending too much money, so you may want to change the reward sometimes.

2. Competiton

Why not set competitions in the office, ranging from who can get the most appointments, or make the most phone calls, or convert the most leads. The desire not to be beaten will be incentive enough for most sales people.

3. Just one more phone call

If things aren't going well for you, you might be inclined to become disheartened with cold calling, or choose a different plan of attack. Making that one additional phone call could be the breakthrough that you have been looking for. Even if you are unsuccessful, you will be a step nearer to your next sale.

4. Ask for a specific time and date when making appointments

By asking for specific times and dates, your prospect will choose a more suitable time and date that suits them, and so can't easily say no.

5. Be polite to everyone you speak to

You never know when you will get a chance to speak to the decision maker. If you are not polite to the gatekeeper, then you may never get the chance to. it is important to remember that the gatekeeper is only doing their job, the same as you are. You don't want to be remembered as a pushy salesperson!

You should be able to incormporate these tips into your normal routine, and within no time will become second nature and lead to more sales.
