5 Key points to Creating Landing Pages

Essentially a landing page is a webpage that has been optimized and setup as the first page a visitor will see when they enter the url of you website. The purpose of this page is to enable the site owner to start building a list of potential customers. 

When designing your landing page you must keep in mind that this page should only focus on capturing leads. In order to do this effectively there must be something behind this page that a potential customer would be willing to give you their information to gain access to that information.

When done correctly landing pages can be a great way to start building a customer base that you can later sell more of your products to. When someone enters their email address in the opt-in form of the landing page they are essentially telling you they are interested in what you have to offer. 

There is another form of generating lead for your business using what are called squeeze pages. These are similar to landing pages but are usually smaller in size and offer a quick offer for some type of product or service; again in order to gain access to this perceived valuable information the person must enter their details to gain access to the information.

It is important to keep in mind when creating your landing pages to be focused on what it is that you want to convey to your reader. The information you convey to them must have several key elements for the landing page to work correctly. 

These are some key points to remember when constructing your landing page.

• Be focused on one single product or service.
• Describe what this product or service will do for the reader.
• Show how your product or service will solve a problem.
• Define who your target market is and deliver solutions.
• Have a strong and compelling call to action.

These are just a few of the key points that must be take into consideration. There are many resources available online that can help you along the way. I have taken the time to research some of these and offer them here to you as a guide.

Remember that whatever method you use the short squeeze page approach or the more lenghly landing page you must be focused on one goal and that is to have a compelling offer. Once you have done this then a clear call to action and your on your way to creating a huge list that you can then market for years on end.
