Raw Food Success

The raw food diet's popularity has grown so much and continues to grow. The way it makes people feel like - the endless energy, a clear head, glowing skin, endless energy, and sound sleep are just some of the reasons the diet is so enticing. Here are some tips so you can feel good too.

1. TAKE IT SLOW

If you are consuming a diet high in junk food then I suggest that you start slowly incorporating foods like beans, whole grains, whole fruits and veggies and if you need your meat, baked chicken and fish. This process will take time. Our taste buds are constantly changing, so over time you will begin to love your new diet. After you have been eating the above, then eliminate processed sugar, and bring in dates, honey, and maple syrup. When you get used to these changes buy a raw food book and try a few recipes. Perhaps try replacing all your desserts and snacks with a raw treat. Finally, you can start having salads for lunch and dinner or raw recipes like burgers, tacos, and sandwiches. Eventually you will know what works best for you. I can't recommend enough to do your research and read, read, read.

2. MAKE IT EASY

If you are feeling overwhelmed by all the food prep that some raw food recipes need, get a book or go online for quick and easy raw food recipes. Raw Food Made Easy is a good one, and Ani Phyo's books. It also isn't necessary to buy a dehydrator to have good food and fun too.

3. GET SUPPORT

Everything is easier if you have a helping hand. Whether it is a family member, friend or a group from meetup.com. Most cities have raw food groups where they get together and share tips, recipes and delicious food. It is a good chance to meet people that have the same interests as you and learn from one another. There are also a few websites out there that have forums where you can talk to other raw foodies. Try goneraw.com, and rawfoodtalk.com.

4. READ BLOGS

I have learned SO MUCH from reading blogs on nutrition and raw foods. blogs can give you personal feedback on published recipes, supplemehnts, nutrition tips, etc. When I just started out with eating raw and my weight was low, I read what others were eating on a daily basis and knew what I needed to eat to reach my goal weight. Check out beautifullivingfood.blogspot.com, veggiegirlvegan.blogspot.com, renegadehealth.com, and my blog wholefoodgal.blogspot.com

5. TAKE IT SLOW, AGAIN!

I can't emphasize this enough. Start just have fruit smoothies for breakfast and later adding greens for a more nutrition punch. Make healthy versions of your favorite salad dressing using cashews. Take your time with the change.
