Blemishes happen to almost everyone around the globe at least once in their lifetime. For most people this is nothing to worry about as they easily go away. However for some people they keep popping up again and again and there seems to be no end in sight. This is a result of a skin condition known as acne.

There are a number of different causes for acne, and consecutively different treatments for the different causes. The complication in treatment of acne is not in knowing why or how it occurs, but in finding the particular cause for a particular person so that appropriate treatment can be provided. You know what? that is something best left to the doctors. However I do have some good news, and that is there are some treatments that work for the majority of people with acne. In this article I am going to share with you 5 tips that can help you get rid of acne. But before that I just want to put a disclaimer here. Disclaimer: I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice!

Tip 1: Change your diet

You do know that whatever you eat does effect you in some way or other, don't you? Well all of us do and yet most of us keep eating the same pesticide and weedicide (read poision) infested foods day in and day out and we wonder why we are not healthy. Is it even suprising that we are not healthy? You may look at the produce and it looks very fresh and great, however it is only looking that way because its filled with tons of chemicals which make it look that way, these very chemicals are causing us health problems. So the first tip is to start eating organic foods. These are natural grown and no harmful chemicals are used. And whatever you do keep away from genetically engineered foods. I understand science has come a long way, but at genetic engineering it is still a baby, and has just began to touch on the tip of a very huge iceberg. I do believe genetically engineered foods will one day become edible but that day is not today.

The best foods to eat are green leafy vegetables. Fruits and nuts are also great to eat. Also try adding some foods which has a lot of water content. Which leads us to tip 2.

Tip 2: drink a lot of water

About 60% of the human body is water, and one of the most important properties of water is that it purifies i.e. cleans. Thus drinking a lot of water will help to clean your body from the inside out and this alone may cause many health problems to simply dissapear.

My advice would be to drink 10 to 12 glasses of water everyday. Now before you dig out that mini glass that barely fits 50 ml and use it to drink the water and claim you are drinking 10 to 12 glasses, let me state the glass must contain approximately 230ml or more to be considered a glass for this purpose. This totals up to around 2.5 Liters of water per day. This may seem like a lot of water, however drinking it will really help you. Besides once you start drinking that much water it doesn't seem like all that much.

Many people say but I am not thirsty, I just cannot drink it when I am not thirsty. Well I got news for you. By the time you are thirsty you are already dehydrated, and are lacking a large amount of water, and this is not good for you. Thus I suggest starting of drinking small amounts of water and then gradually moving up.

Tip 3: Take some vitamins

Increasing the intake of vitamins is known to increase the healing factor by boosting the immune system and thus helps in almost all health problems. My main suggesstion would be to try eating foods with more vitamins in them, more specifically look for foods with high levels of A, B12, B, E, B5, & B6 vitamins. However this may not be a suitable method for most people, thus I may suggest taking multivitamin supplements as a second best option.

Tip 4: Try natural herbs

These days we are seeing natural herbs becoming more and more prominent in the curation of many health problems and thus I suggest looking for some natural herbs which could help in curing acne. Red Clover is a very highly recommended herb for this cause. Some others are Dandelion Root, and Alfalfa. There are probably more as well but I'll leave you to look at those.

Tip 5: see a dermatologist

When all else fails or you have a acne which just does not wish to be cured, it may be time to see a dermatologist. I know this may not sound like an actual tip, but you will be suprised by the number of people who try to delay their visit to the dermatologist or try to avoid it altogether and thus I had to put this in. A dermatologist is a skin specialist, and they will work closely with you to get rid of your problem.
