Below are, perhaps, the most popular 5 types of diamond cuts:

  • Princess cut. This is a modern diamond cut which is often used in design of white gold, yellow gold or platinum rings. It has a square shape. Its elegance and classic appearance make the princess cut engagement ring very desirable for any woman.
  • Marquise cut. The marquise cut is a slender striking cut that designers often use for their "masterpieces". The shape allows to create a feeling that the diamond is bigger than it really is. Its length is twice bigger than its width.
  • Round cut. The name suggests us that a design with this cut would contain a circle cut diamond. The circle cut diamonds have always been an excellent choice for engagement rings, despite its not-so-modern appearance. They bribe by their elegance and simplicity.
  • Pear cut. One more popular fancy cut. It has the round cut in the base of the brilliant and extends itself to a point. If ideally proportioned it gives a depth of scintillation to the point of the stone. It is used if a longer look is required.
  • Oval cut. Another popular diamond cut which is particularly good for rings with a wide band or with long rows of accent stones. This cut is known for its outstanding shine and sparkle which make sure that you won't be disappointed after buying it.

There are a lot more than these 5 types of diamond cuts but these seem to be the most popular among buyers.

Diamonds Rings

There are different types of diamonds that are normally used in diamonds rings. These are pink diamonds (the world rarest diamonds due to the intense pink they have), white diamonds (these shine intensively and are of high quality), champagne diamonds (naturally colored diamonds), pink champagne diamonds (the main color is champagne and the secondary -- pink), yellow diamonds (come in a wide variety of shades), blue diamonds (also have quite a range of shades like the skies shade), and green diamonds (the penetration of color is not very deep).

Diamond rings are known for their range of colors and variety of shapes and sizes. If you are going to purchase a diamond ring it is important that you measure the quality of the diamond and its value, determined by its color, clarity, cut and carat weight. The brilliance of a diamond is the key to its beauty. Diamond rings are mostly used as anniversary rings, wedding rings and engagement rings.
