5 Easy Ways to Kill Flies
73I have yet to come across anyone who loves flies. Yes those pesky flying bugs that go buzzzzzz around your ears, food and rubbish alike. The feeling that these critters have landed onto garbage dumps and dogs' poo is enough to turn anyone off. Unless you love germs and bacteria, you will make sure they are no way near your fruits, foods and fabulous meals. So here are fives ways to kill them. Dead.
Maybe with the impending winter, there the flies are no way to be seen in numbers, but it is better to know and be fore-armed!
#1 Fly Swatter
This is the good old fashion method that needs a bit of elbow grease, agility and maybe stamina. You can take out your frustrations on them. Swat at them, swing at them, flap at them. Anyhow you do it, but do it to make sure they are dead. This might also give you a good workout too and in the meanwhile release some stress. Cheap. Simple. Effective. Go for it. A rolled up newspapers or magazines will do as well, but maybe not as effective. But make sure those pesky flies don't land on your favorite china. Or else it will be an expensive exercise!
#2 Aerosol
This might be most effective. Just point and shoot. What can be more simple? Poison alert! It may also kill you or your children by stealth. Beware! It might also be non environmental friendly. In these days of political correctness, it is a big no no for some. Think also of how to get rid of empty cans. Another pollution contribution. It is better to love the buzzing and the disease rather than to kill yourself and the environment! Next.

Simple, cheap and effective. You put them up, they do the work. No swatting, no shooting, no sweat. It is also environmental friendly. What more can you ask for? But do you have the guts to kill them when they are still flying in the trap? Can you stand to get rid of dead flies and also clean out the trap? It is yucky and may not be for the squeamish.
#4 Glue Traps
This is clean and effective. Hang them up and the flies will be stuck onto the glue as they land. Like bees attracted to honey house flies are attracted these glue trap as the sticky thingy are designed to attract them. After all they do smell like rotten stuff. Once it land there is no taking off. They will be finished. Kaput. Stuck. The good thing is many other flies will join those landed for fun and company and maybe have a party. Stupid. But who cares? As soon as there is no more room for landing, bin it and hang another one up. Viola. Job done.
If you cannot find these glued paper traps, apply any soft and slow drying adhesive on a stick or twig. Works wonders too.
#5 Frogs
Frogs! Yes frogs. It is the ultimate environmentally friendly fly killer. Those cute little green slimy jumper. Rear them in your garden and if you can stand it, in your home. What can be more politically correct? No environmental destruction. No messy dead rotting flies to clean or get rid of. They do it all for you. No poisonous foul smelling fumes that might drive you spare. No more accidents caused by chasing them to swat. No more short breath and pounding hearts in running after them. How good can frogs be? You bet they are your best pet yet.
Another (not recommended) easy way! lol

Cheers! frog for dropping by.
If you have none of the above, but have some cheap sticky hairspray, spray them with the hairspray - most brands of cheap hairspray will set rock solid very quickly, thus disabling the fly so you can scoop it up and chuck it out through the window.
A great hub!
Hi earner, that is a great idea. It will stick up other things don't you think? Thanks for your comment though.
Hello great hub. Your little frog picture was really cute. There are so many ways one could kill a fly. Don't ya think?
Hi Sabbatha, yes there are many more ways to kill a fly and I am sure you have some handy hints too. Thanks for commenting.
What about the beetles that buzz about the screens on the south-facing side of the house? The ladybugs have been very busy this autumn at my mom's house. But, I hate to kill such cute little pests. But, they truly are a nuisance.
Ladybirds are colorful and cute, hardly a nuisance. They are not disease carrying bugs. They are just settling in, get cozy for the winter. Then they will hibernate. Treat them as nature's walking tiny dolls. Enjoy them while they are swarming around.
