5 reasons for Windows 7 to kill windows XP
67Reasons for Windows 7 to kill windows XP
1: Improved efficiency of the operating system on laptops running on batteries:
The Windows 7 has improved itself and evolved in order to provide unmatched performance when running on batteries. They say, the OS is optimized for battery situations and thus handles the process management in a beautiful way. It boosts up the wireless radio, and allows it to drop under hundred percent power draw, and still manages the connection. The CPU cycles and frequency is too optimized for battery performance. It can run at low power in an idle situation. To put it in simple words, Windows 7 happens to save almost 11 to 15 percent battery. So, you'll extra minutes to work on.
2. Boots really fast:
Windows 7 has really boosted its performance in booting time. In fact Microsoft promises booting up will take less than 15 seconds. In fact this has been proved in various tests run on the beta. But anyways, we still have to wait for the final release and determine, if it holds for it too. This is in fact achieved with the help of highly reduced number of start up processes. There are less than 6 or 7 processes that are needed to be run at the start up. The best part is they too are optimized for performance and speed.
3. Optimized for gaming:
Windows 7 has been highly optimized for gaming. Microsoft says, the way OS behaves changes when games are run. When games are being run, the background processes start running in least resource mode and then provide maximum resources for the game that is being run. With the forth coming DirectX 11, gaming is going to be entirely a new experience with Windows 7. Yes, Directx 10 won't be spared. It too will be honored to a maximum extent.
4. Peripherals will be given special treatment:
If you have different plug and play peripheral devices, then its going to be a feast for you. Windows 7 has gotten rid of its age old culture of popping up auto-run screen, whenever you plug in a device. Now it has introduced custom screen which is device centric. Windows 7 will show you options that are more meaningful for that device, and it might even take you to the manufacturer's website where you might have special features. Even finding drivers for the peripherals is not a big deal now, as Windows 7 will itself search for it over the net and get it installed for you.
5. Improved UAC:
Not anymore will you be bugged with that irritating dialogue box which appears whenever you change the smallest setting in Windows Vista. Windows 7 has got down to a more liberal approach and it provides you more freedom and yet maintains the security against the malicious programs. The dialogue is shot only during the most important changes.
