The title of this hub easily could have been "How I got 500,000 visitors in 6 months for my hub pages". But then, I thought why put a ceiling on the number (0.5 million!) of visitors? Yes, it is true that my total hub stats crossed 500 thousand visits (half a million, right?), over 1000 comments and the total daily visits hover between 5000 to 8000. But, I wanted to sound professional and humble as without the support of readers and fellow hubbers, I would have never seen that statistics.

As a token of love and gratitude, here I present 50 tips to generate more traffic (massive traffic) to your hubs. If I have to choose only one tip of all these 50, it would be "Write more hubs". Do not bother about anything, just put your head down and type in to create more hubs, then you can leisurely market your hubs once you cross the magical figure of 100 (total hubs). If you follow these 50 tips, I am sure your hub traffic will skyrocket as mine did. Most of these tips are easy to implement and costs nothing to you (No paid advertising strategies will be discussed here). I have organized these tips into five different hubs, each section containing ten tips (more or less) which will add up to 50+ tips to increase your hubpages traffic. I will publish them over a week discussing the tips and ideas to get massive traffic to your hubs.

If you like this hub, you might also want to check out other hubs of similar theme. Subscribe to my Latest Hubs RSS feed or join my Fan club so you will be notified as soon as I publish new hubs. Stay tuned for the next hub in the 5-part series.

As I promised, here are the other hubs published in this series.

Section 1: How to write Hubs and Blog Posts for Traffic

1. Write more How-To-Do posts. People are always looking to find solutions to solve problems, so, How-To-Do-A-Thing articles will always bring you more traffic to you for longer period time. Do not worry if a How-To-Do post already exists. Write your own version, add plenty of detail to make things clear. (How to Start a Blog: Guide for Grandma®)

2. Write List-posts. The attention span of the web readers is slowly decreasing. Unless you write your hub in a more organized way, no one go through and read to get your messages. Most of the web readers like to skim and a list makes it easy to skim through. A list-post is just perfect for web readers. (60 signs why I am addicted to Hubpages)

3. Publish some photo galleries (search through your vacation photos, scan them if you need to). When you add description and relevant tags to your photos, you can attract visitors from image search. (Colours of India: Stunning Photo Gallery). I have already written about finding stunning pictures from flickr and using them in your hubs legally for free.

4. Inter-link your hub pages, when you write your hubs always include your URL tracker to get referral traffic. Maintain a list of all your hubs classified by different theme. Include the URL tracker in every hub page URL and use Text Capsule to copy them and use it as "Related Hubs" section. I don't use the Links module for "Related Hubs". (How to Make $100 per day with AdSense:12 Tips for Hubbers)

5. Publish Hub page Round-up Hubs. With at least 100 new hubs published each hour, your good hub might have lost in the crowd. You can publish your own hubpages roundup on a particular topic by combining all your hubs on that topic. Because, people would like to read related things, they would love to see a hubpages collection and it is easy to bookmark (in this hub, include referral links) (500 High Quality XP Vista Desktop Wallpapers) It is a good way to bring more traffic to your less popular hubs.

6. Write lengthy hubs. Research everything write long hubs that will have value even after an year or two. Choose an ever green topic such as "how to become rich" or "how to become beautiful". Consider how your hub will stand the test of time, down 10 months or even 10 years. Write authoritative hubs on the topic you had chosen.

7. Re-Think and choose a catchy title that is apt for human beings as well as search engines. Use the Google's free Keyword Tool to find if your title is popular among Adsense advertisers. Also, please write a catchy first paragraph which will appear in the Summary to attract viewers.

8. Use Google Analytics to know what content is liked by your visitors. Publish more hubs in those lines. (How to setup Google Analytics with Hubpages:Screen shots Tutorial) Depending on your visitors, you can also publish specific hubs that will be of some interest to them. For instance, majority of my visitors come from USA, and I need to tailor my hubs to suit their needs and lifestyle.

9. Make genuine hub page Requests, you will be noticed. Do not ask ordinary questions and spam the section, please.

10. Write more hubs. I said more. start now. Check the Requests page and you will never run out of ideas for writing new hubs.

11. Participate in Hubpage Forums.Take part in forum discussions. You can get new ideas for your hubs. If your answer to a particular forum post exceeds 200 words, then better publish another hub on that topic/issue.

12. Publish your hubpages as a series. I know I am contradicting the 'Write lengthy post' advice, but there are some topics which are even bigger for lengthy posts. In that case, break down your hubs into different parts (3 part series or 5 part series). It will give opportunity for your readers to digest and attract more traffic from search engines and you would have added the number of hubs you have written. Interlink all other hubs from each hub so that your reader will know what other related hubs are in the same theme. Better, you can group them, so the reader can easily browse to the previous or next hub in the series.

13. One hub a day keep the traffic up and high. Yes, you will say it is a tough job. But, it is the secret of my success. I write hubs (or compile photo galleries) when I have plenty of time and publish them one a day (or two at a day). In this way, your traffic will gradually skyrocket even 200% and it will be steady for a longer time.

14. Keep a journal. I note down my ideas that are good for writing at hubpages. Not all the ideas turn into hubs, but I start writing draft hubs and improve them until it is worthy of publication. I try to keep at least 10 hubs in the drafts stage, so that I never run out of hubs to publish.

I like it that you emphasized that none of these traffic-generating strategies cost anything. It's good that your tips here focus on quality content and making the articles on hubs 'stand the test of time.' It's also a good thing that you separated your posts into many parts, which is consistent with what you wrote here, about attention spans waning.

I'm into online marketing and I think you've listed some commendable tips here. You even suggested some content format anyone can follow, such as the how-to posts and the list type, taking into account the declining reading patience online people have. I'm just not so sold on the long hub posts you mentioned--won't that go against the short attention span of readers? Just sharing some thoughts.

Excellent writing plus awesome tips. I kinda like your "One hub a day keep the traffic up and high".

I'm new to the hubsphere but one thing I do notice here is that most of the hubs are of high quality.

And yours is one of them.
