50 is more than 0
75Positive
As I prepare to reach a positive hubpage milestone by completing my 50th hub, I am reminded by all the positive things in my life and the things that help contribute to my positive attitude. I called this hub "50 is > 0" because the number 50 is always greater than zero and any number greater than zero is, in mathematical terms, a positive number and will always be positive (just like me).
My 50 favorite and most positve influences in my life.

Cars/SUVs (listed in order of preference)
1. Jeep - The Jeep is just me and it represents who I am. I am extremely comfortable in a Jeep because it is flexible (top up or top down, on-road driving or off-road driving, classy or rugged).
2. Mustang - The convertible Mustang (any year) is a simple yet elegant car.
CDs/Music (listed in alphabetic order by artist)
1. Billy Joel - What can I say but ever since I played my first tape of Piano man I was a fan. BJ tells great stories in his music and combines the stories with excellent lyrics. This man is a true entertainer and my favorite artist.
2. Black Eyed Peas - If you think about the name of this group, a Black Eyed Pea is a type of soul food and no-one has more soul than this group.
3. Bruce Springsteen - This man represents core blue collar America in his work ethic and lyrics - not to mention puts on a great concert.
4. Kelly Clarkson - What is not to like about the first American Idol winner. This is a true underdog story about a small town girl growing up in the south and making it big on pure talent. I have each one of her cds.
5. Rihanna - I cannot think of one song of Rihanna's that I do not like, even her collaboration with Maroon 5 is excellent.
DVDs/Movies (listed in order of preference)
1. Matrix Trilogy - The concept that we are all plugged into a system that we have no control of and there is the real world outside the system was just too mindblowing. The characters, special effects and story makes this set tops on my list.
2. Quentin Tarantino - This director, producer, writer has produced some great films and I like the way he presents them - all of them.
3. Underworld and Underworld Evolution - These are hands down the best vampire movies - great actors, great special effects and great story line. Who did not go out and purchase a suit like the one worn by Kate Beckinsale?
4. The Mummy and The Mummy Returns - These are hands down the best mummy movies - great actors, great special effects and great story line. Who else liked the cat fight in the second movie?
Foods (listed in order of most consumed)
1. Pizza - What other food touches all the food groups? This one is a traditional meal on Friday nights.
2. Egg Whites - This food is great at any meal with feta or swiss cheese, spinach and Tabasco sauce is a perfect combination. Add in some rye toast and turkey sausage and you know what my weekend mornings are like.
3. Burger or Cheese Steak - These two dishes are tied for consumption and are too close not to list together. There is nothing like a Bison buger with guacomole, jalapeno and Tabasco or a cheese steak with sirloin, swiss cheese, raw onion and Tabasco.
4. Pastisto - This Greek dish is simply fantastic - especially the way my wife makes it. I cannot get enough when she makes it (once or twice a year). Add a glass or two of Merlot and we have an excellent meal.
Games (listed in order of favorite)
1. Shaun White Snowboarding - Playing this game of the Wii with a fit board is a distinct delight. Completing the game was an absolute great feeling.
2. Vampire Bloodlines - This was a great PC game to play and complete. You play a vampire character that you create and role play as this character through out the game. Each character presentes a different ending to the game.
People (listed in order of priority)
1. Wife and Son - Simply put - there are no two people on this planet that bring me more happiness and joy. I just love being around them.
2. The Camper Friends - We have known these people since college and they are our best and dearest friends.
3. The Supper Club Friends - Every month when we all get together it is a great time.
Phrases (no particular order)
1. Work smart and do good work - I try to work as smart as possible (aside from my mistakes) and do the best work I can do.
2. If you think you can you will, If you think you cannot you won't - This needs no further explanation.
3. There is always a way - When I run into an obstacle, I believe there is always a way around it or there is a solution out there (it just has not surfaced yet).
4. Think positive - I always try and see the positive of any situation.
Sports
1. Ice Hockey - Although I cannot skate too well, I love everything about this game and I especially love watching my son play.
2. Football - Where else can you kill an entire day in front the the HD television?
Technology (listed in order of most experience)
1. Hardware - Working with hardware is a tremendous amount of fun for me. I just love to see how things work and hardware gives me the best view of this.
2. Unix Scripting - I have been working with korn shell scripting for a long time and I love the way scripts allows you to solve problems.
3. Lawson Administrator - From 7.x environment to 8.0.3 environment (HP-UX) through 9.x (Solaris), I have been doing this type of work.
4. Red Hat Administrator - I worked through all versions beginning with 6.x and ending with 9.x (that is when Red Hat became Fedora).

Great Hub. I see your favorite sayings are basically the same as mine and you/ve got good taste in music. Always nice to read about the real person behind the writings!
