500gb External Hard Drive

With the everyday computer becoming faster and more affordable every day, more and more programs are becoming data intensive. The average size of the files you save every day are growing at a rapid pace. A 500gb external hard drive is an addition to most computers that is becoming virtually a necessity.

This is especially true for a number of professions. For example, a movie producer may have many different copies of the same movie, but each version of the movie can range from 600-800 megabytes in size. You can imagine that enough of these types of files will present a storage issue to the producer that he will eventually have to address. Same with architects that save AutoCAD files on a regular basis. These files can range anywhere from fifty to several hundred megabytes in size.

A feature that is common between both professions is not only that the amounts of data they encounter every day is incredibly huge, but also that both jobs require you to bring large files back and forth from both home, the workplace and various job sites where you may need to present your documents. They are memory hungry jobs and the days of a stack of cds to carry the documents, movies or drawings is all but over.

Arguably, the best fundamental solution to the problem in the previous example would be to simply purchase a portable 500GB external hard drive. By purchasing a 500GB external hard drive, both of the workers from the previous example would get the best of both worlds. They would get the freedom and portability of an external hard drive, which is valuable in both of their high-commute careers. They would also gain the large amount of storage space that they need for the big files they deal with everyday on the job. By getting everything in one package, they would no longer have to back up the e-mail servers at their place of business by trying to force through large business files. No longer will their recipients have to deal with waiting extended amounts of time while the attachments download.

They will also be saved from the thankless task of searching and distributing endless numbers of CD’s with unknown contents. With a 500 GB external hard drive, all professionals with data intensive jobs can explore personalization options that may fit their place of work and/or home office.

Many hard drives have the options of colored casing or specifically cut carrying bags to fit your individual tastes. In summary, there is not a product quite like a 500GB external hard drive that will offer you portability and at the same time give you a seemingly endless amount of storage space at the same time. One of the best ways to obtain an external hard drive is to purchase online - they are excellent products to be delivered by mail, and the site www.external hard drive.com has a huge selecttion of excellent products. I bought a 250 GB from my computer repair shop when my daughter spilled cider on her laptop and we needed to save her files (mostly music!). It was cheap enough but the superstores had 500GB units for the same price! I now use it back up all my kwa data! Good post
