5 Ways to Know For Sure She Likes You

You think she might like you, but you don't know. You sure like her! So ask her out already - unless she doesn't really like you at all, or only wants to be friends. How can you tell? Here are five signs that she'd definitely say "yes" to a date - or maybe even two!

Her friends react when you talk to her. If you run into her, between class or maybe at the mall or at the movies, and her friends take a few steps away and start giggling and whispering among themselves, it's a good bet that not only does she like you, she's beguiled her girlfriends for hours about how much she likes you, dreams about you, writes your initials on everything she can think of - and they just wish you'd ask her out already so they can all talk about something or someone else for a change!

She goes out of her way to talk to you. If you just keep "happening" to run into her with no extra effort on your part, chances are really good she likes you - especially if she always (or almost always) strikes up a conversation. If she initiates any text or email messages at all, and the subject is something trivial that could have waited until she next contrived to see you in person, guess what? She likes you!

The eyes have it. Maybe it's intense eye contact while the two of you are talking, like she's trying to memorize your face or something (as if she hasn't already!). However, if she absolutely can't meet your eyes, but still stops to talk, that's a sign, too - especially if she's blushing slightly. After all, eyes are the mirror to the soul, and she's probably petrified that you'll read how much she likes you if she looks directly at you. Give the girl a break and ask her out!

That special touch. You may notice that, while the two of you are talking, especially near the end of the conversation, that she briefly touches arm, shoulder or back. Females instinctively work to find or make reasons to touch guys they like. We can't help ourselves - it's genetic! Another sign: look for a death grip on her purse, backpack, shopping bags, books, etc. That means she's trying very, very hard not to touch you - because she likes you so much and she's afraid to reveal her feelings, just in case you don't feel the same way.

She watches you. You glance at her, only to find she's already looking at you, and she quickly looks away. And this happens not once, but a lot. And maybe, just maybe, you see a wistful or hopeful look on her face. Also, if you find out she's suddenly started attending sports events, concerts, or school plays where you just happen to be an athlete or performer - she's very likely there to see you. Enjoy. Smile. Then ask her to go to a movie or something.

There's nothing, nothing worse than thinking a girl likes you when she doesn't. However, if you start noticing at least three of the above five behaviors, odds are good that she is more than a little interested in you. In a perfect world, one of her friends would quickly be deputized to interrogate you about your feelings for her shortly after you noticed her actions fit the profiles above, but this won't always happen. If you know one of her friends pretty well, you could turn the tables and interrogate the friend! Otherwise, try to get the girl herself alone and ask her out. If you want to minimize your chances of looking like an idiot, invite her along to a group activity. "A bunch of us are going to XYZ next Saturday, would you like to come along?" If she likes you, she'll say yes. Good luck!
