Interesting about the horse shoe. In the UK it has to be with the prongs upwards....or the 'luck' pours out.
It really is incredible that people throughout the world different interpretations of what brings them good luck. As Peter knows, the Thai and Lao are akin to "charm bracelets" which ward off evil spirits. Thank you for sharing this, Anamika S.
BKCreative and dohn121 : Thanks for the appreciation
Peter Dickinson : There is nothing wrong in the prongs pointing upwards. But with the prongs pointing downwards the horse shoe is said to offer protection also along with good luck.
This hub had quite a few good luck symbols. One I remember from visiting relatives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (USA) who were Pennsylvania Dutch was a hex symbol. Every barn had a hex symbol painted over the top of the doorway, and for a while I had a necklace with a hex symbol. They're very beautiful patterns.
This was a good hub, I liked it. Brief and sweet, and quite well-written, and a shopping opportunity, all combined!
Thanks for the visit and appreciation. Paradise7. Feng Shui is one of my newly acquired interests and i would be sharing more on the different types of applications and symbols used in Feng Shui.
