6 Most Important Guidelines for SEO Content Writing/Copywriting
56SEO Copywriting
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) content writing or copywriting involves both search engine- and reader-friendly content.
Following are the guidelines from ‘reader-friendly’ perspective –
1. A catchy title
A title is everything. All readers will decide to read your article/blog from reading your title alone. If you have a great article/blog but a lousy title, readers will desert you.
A unique descriptive title will always work.
2. Break your article/blog into different points and give a subtitle to every point.
After reading your title, readers generally scan your article for main points. Many readers tend to leave the article/blog if they don’t find the various important points the article/blog deals with. If you give proper subtitles to the different points you are covering in your article/blog, it will be convenient for the readers to help make a decision on whether to read it or not.
3. Short paragraphs.
Readers love short paragraphs. Long paragraphs tend to put off readers’ interest.
4. Discuss only one idea or point per paragraph.
Try to discuss only one idea or one point per paragraph. If you discuss more than one idea or point per paragraph, you will confuse the readers.
5. Short and simple sentences.
Keep your sentences short. Long sentences are not easy to grasp. And, do not overuse comma or any punctuation mark. Say what you have to say in simple & straight words.
6. Limit your article/blog to 300-500 words.
A 300-500 words article/blog is a great treat for the readers. Say what you have to say using as few words as possible. Only very serious category will read 1000+ words article.

Informative, well written, thanks. But forgive me, being from the over the hill gang, I didn't know what SEO was (and I'm sure I'm not alone in this -- who can keep up?) So I basically read the article to find that out. Perhaps that's a neat trick to get readers to look your way.
