Planning a baby shower can be stressful, especially if you're planning the shower for a friend or family member. Every hostess's fear is that either the mom-to-be or the attendees will be disappointed with the decorations, theme, or games at the shower. When trying to come up with great baby shower ideas, there is no one right or wrong answer. The best way to plan a great shower is to consider the personality and tastes of the mom and to plan accordingly. And no matter what the theme or decorations are, the best way to ensure that everyone at the shower has a good time is to incorporate fun baby shower games that will appeal to your specific group of party-goers. The following describes seven fun baby shower games that could make your party fabulous.

#1 Baby Song List

One popular baby shower game is "Baby Song List." In this game, each woman is given a piece of paper and a writing utensil. Everyone then has five minutes to write down as many song names she can think of that have the word "baby" in the title. Extra points can be given for naming the singer of songs. "Baby Song List" is a particularly great game for a group of people who enjoy mind/thinking games as opposed to more physical activities.

#2 Blindfold Diapering

In "Blindfold Diapering," the participants are divided into teams, and each team is given a life-size baby doll, some diapers, and a blindfold. A person then places the blindfold over her eyes, takes the current diaper off the baby, and places a new diaper on the doll. After she is finished, she takes off the blindfold and passes it to the next person on her team who performs the same diapering exercise. The first team to finish diapering their doll wins. This game is great for people who enjoy being silly and don't mind doing potentially embarrassing activities.

#3 Baby Candy

This baby shower game requires a variety of different types of candy and chocolate bars. The candy should be laid out in the middle of the room, and each participant writes a story on a piece of paper about the mother and her future child, trying to use the names of the candy in their story. Participants only have ten minutes to complete their story. Once the stories are completed, the mother-to-be reads them aloud. The person who used the most candy names in her story wins. In the case of a tie, the mother chooses which story was the most funny. "Baby Candy" is perfect for groups who are creative and love a challenge.

#4 Guess Mom's Tummy Size

"Guess Mom's Tummy Size" requires scissors and yarn. Each participant takes a piece of yarn and cuts it to the length that they think will fit exactly around the mother-to-be's stomach. The person who comes the closest without going over wins the game. This game is short and simple and is great for any type of group of baby-shower goers, especially those who prefer socializing to playing long and involved games.

#5 Baby Shower Lotto

For this game, you will need a large calendar of the month in which the baby is supposed to be born. Each person predicts the day and time when the baby will be born and writes down their guess on the calendar alongside their name. People can make more predictions by buying in with baby items, such as a pack of diapers. Later, once the baby is born, the person who came the closest to guessing the right day and time of the baby's birth wins a prize. This is a great game to give the mother baby items she may need and to entertain those who enjoy being competitive.

#6 Guess the Baby Food

For "Guess the Baby Food," you will need ten jars of baby food of different flavors. Peel the labels off the jars and blindfold the participants. Pass around the jars and have each person taste the baby food and guess the flavor of the baby food. The person who correctly guesses the most flavors wins the game. This game is great for a group of people who are slightly adventurous and don't mind tasting potentially gross foods.

#7 Make the Baby

For this game, you need a variety of baby magazines. (Other magazines can be used as well to make the game more interesting). Each person cuts out different features from babies and people in the magazines and paste together what they think the mom's baby will look like. After everyone has completed their creations, the mom looks at each image and picks the winner based on the baby picture that she either likes best or that looks the most like her. "Make the Baby" is a great game for people who would enjoy socializing while playing a game as participants are free to talk about whatever they want or snack while working on their creations. It's a low-key game that can still be a lot of fun.

No matter the personalities or preferences of the party-goers, baby showers can include games that everyone can enjoy. If your baby shower guest list includes people who are similar, go ahead and tailor the games to appeal to everyone. If your list includes many different types of people, plan a shower that includes an assortment of different games: those that are physical, mental, silly, and serious. Coming up with baby shower ideas for games doesn't have to be difficult. Hopefully, this brief list of fun baby shower games will give you a few ideas that will be perfect for your baby shower.
