7 Ways to Get Backlinks
60Backlinks are vital
in a website's SEO strategy. If you want to make money online, you want
backlinks. You can get them yourself (buying, creating, trading for them) and
you can get people to link to you as well. Here are seven ways that you can get
more backlinks to your website.
1. Reciprocal Linking
Reciprocal links exist when you trade links with someone. They post a link for
you and you post a link for them. If you socialise online you're liable to find
plenty of friends who are willing to trade links with you. Look for a
complimentary niche wherever possible in terms of getting targeted traffic and
the most valuable link possible in the eyes of search engines (who look for
relevancy when they grade a link)
2. Buying Links
You can buy links that point to your website. You can hand-pick websites
that you'd like to have links from and you can also contact companies who will
sell massive amounts of links. If search engines believe your links are less
than natural, they may not see them as very valuable so getting links from a
high authority site that wouldn't be viewed as a "spammy" site in the
eyes of search engines is a good idea.
3. Social Media
Social media is a great way to get links. You can open accounts at many online
sites that allow you to socialize, network, and monetize and this can help you
also to get links pointing to your site. There are loads of bookmarking
and micro-blogging sites as well as web 2.0 sites (like HubPages!) that can
help you.
4. Your Own Sites
Having several websites of your own is a great way to link. You can do one way,
two way, and three-way linking strategies to help boost the SEO power of each
site as well as to point people who visit one of your online homes to another
that could provide them with something of value.
5. Directories
There are a lot of different online directories and you could join many of
them. Directories might be specific to your niche or be more general but they
can definitely provide SEO power as well as direct traffic your way.
6. Guest posts
Writing articles or blog posts on other sites is a great way to find a new
audience as well as to establish yourself as a subject matter expert. And
generally, a site that accepts your article will allow from 1-6 backlinks
in it. This is a popular and very effective strategy.
7. Be Linkable
The best links happen when someone voluntarily links to you. They may link to
you in their blogroll, write a blog post about your site with a link to you, or
add a link to something of yours in an article or piece of website content.
This type of link is a great thing because people are often telling others that
you're providing valuable information. By publishing quality content
online, you can increase the chances of being linked to and this can contribute
to your profitability and your success.
