71 Weight Loss Tips – A Secret Formula to Success?
53"Have you heard about the 71 Weight Loss Tips?" That's what a friend of mine asked me one day. 71 Tips? Sounds like a lot, is there really that much advice available on losing weight?
She knew I'd been struggling with my weight and was familiar with the roller coaster ride I'd been on. Her intentions were good, but I'd had enough of everyone's advice on how to lose weight.
It doesn't matter who they are or what shape they're in, but once they find out you're trying to lose weight they're the experts. Here are my tips to losing weight. This worked great for me. Have you heard about (latest craze)? Blah, Blah, Blah, it's enough to drive you crazy.
So, you'd have to understand that I was a bit skeptical when approached about the "71 Weight Loss Tips." What was it? I'd heard of Atkins, Sugar Busters, Nutrisystem, SlimFast, and a host of others, but not this. Was it some kind of secret society? Would I have to buy a book? Join a club? Starve myself? I was at my wits end.
My friend shared with me that it wasn't a secret formula or a membership club. It was just a list of practical tips compiled from a group of people who had successfully lost weight and kept it off. Tips that anyone could use! So I got my hands on the list and started reading:
- Don't give up when you stumble. Brush yourself off and keep moving forward.
- Break you overall goal into smaller achievable goals. Instead of losing 20 pounds break it up into 3 pounds a month for 7 months.
- Don't diet. Diets are associated with restrictions and that's no fun. Instead go with moderation and portion control. This will ad variety to your menu and minimize those cravings.
- Identify your triggers. Do you eat ice cream whenever you're lonely?
There's nothing secret about the advice given here. It's real, practical, tips that could be used in conjunction with my current weight loss program.
Another way to get more out of this list is to copy the tips on to 3x5 cards or sticky notes and tape them on your mirror, refrigerator, computer, etc. Put them where you'll see them and be inspired to keep working towards your weight loss goals.
