What is Ozone Water?

Ozone water is beyond filtered water, it is pure water plus it has the ability, when delivered in a proper concentration, to deliver a disinfecting cool clean water safely without any residual waste. Imagine water that will completely eliminate all bacteria even from your meats?! Imagine a water that rinses all bacteria from your fruits and vegetables so completely clean that your fresh fruits and vegetables actually last longer?! Imagine being able to wash down your kitchen table and counter tops with a water that delivers a sanitizing rinse far quicker than chlorine?! That is what the VeriPure® system can deliver safely and conveniently to your home faucet.

What is the Miracle?

The miracle of this new technology that VeriPure® has secured a number of patents that allow a very small unit to be placed in your kitchen (11.5”L x 7”W x 5.5”H) to deliver safe, pure, disinfecting water. But the miracle is not new. Ozone water has been used in hot tubs for years. Canada mandates all commercial swimming pools to use ozone so to lessen the health risk of chlorine. What is brand new is never before have we had the technology to deliver ozone water safely without water residue and without air pollution all in a compact unit. This is the technology that this Green Bay, Wisconsin firm has brought to the world. Sound exciting? It really is! Here are 7 things that I personally love about ozone water.

My Connection to Water

For close to 2 decades, I was responsible for reviewing, analyzing and setting utility rates. While my area of expertise is finance and I was privileged to have served as Finance Director for many years and was appointed to several committees, advisory boards and also served as chairman of safety and personnel, I have always loved water – water production, water distribution, water inventory control – these areas have been some of my fondest professional memories. So, it is no wonder that I take a special interest in a new household product that delivers ozone water right at your kitchen faucet.

A wise man, who was my mentor for many years, once made three predictions (and this was in the early 1990s), we will someday hang televisions on the wall (sound like a flat screen?), the United States standard of living will dramatically decrease as globalization increases (also sound familiar?) and someday we will have two different sources of water right in our homes – one specifically for drinking and another for laundry, showers, and lawn care and the like. With the new technology that VeriPure® has developed with ozone water, even his last prediction is now a possibility.

#1 Ozone Water Smells Like My Garden After a Thunderstorm

As an avid gardener, I was always frustrated that I would spend hours watering during the summer and my plants would simply survive and not thrive. I worked hard at lugging those heavy hoses. And yet, right after a thunderstorm, I would walk out into my garden and almost see my plants responding immediately. This unique smell in the air doesn’t come after just any rain shower. The unique smell only is present following a thunderstorm. The reason for this unique smell, and for the plants thriving after a thunderstorm, I recently learned is the natural phenomenon is called ozonation – an electrical charge of rain droplets. Amazingly, this is what ozone water smells like. Why? Because ozone water is the engineered process that mimics the electrical charge delivered from Mother Nature during a thunderstorm. Ozone water was discovered by a German scientist in the 1840s by a German scientist.

#2 Ozone Water Tickles My Nose When It is Bubbling Just As it Leaves The Faucet Throughout the seasonal changes living here in the midwest, I, like many others, am all too often fighting congestion in my nose. I love the VeriPure® water just as it comes out of the faucet because I know I can safely inhale this sweet smelling water that smells like the purest rain water – because that is what ozone water really is – an electrical charged water. And while there are no medical studies to substantiate my claim as of yet, I feel that ozone water safely decongests my nose. I'm not certain if this will happen for everyone, so I don’t want to get your hopes up if you are fighting sinus problems. For me, VeriPure's water does seem to help.

#3 Ozone Water is 99.9% Pure – No Bacteria

I need hydration. I preach hydration to all of my fitness classes and clients. Our muscles are made of 75% of water. What does this mean to you? If we exercise without proper hydration, cramping of the muscles will often occur (the most common is in the legs). Yet, I am not a big water drinker. With VeriPure I now enjoy water. Is it because it is so pure? Perhaps. I believe it is simply the smell that allures me. I have never been known to like what is good for me (from the person who believes chocolate is medicinal and could survive on brownies!). If nothing else, I know that I am drinking the purest, healthiest water that I can ingest.

#4 Ozone Water Makes My Onion Smell Go Away

I enjoy the taste of onions but not the after taste. And I cannot bear the thought of others smelling my onion breath. VeriPure® water amazes everyone with the instant elimination of this strong smell. In addition to the many benefits that I have covered, VeriPure's water removes smells instantly on contact.

#5 Ozone Water Makes My Fruits and Vegetables Last Longer I used to purchase iceberg lettuce for the simple fact it was both cheaper and tended to last days longer than  other types of lettuce. Now, when I rinse my fruits and vegetables with VeriPure®, they last days longer. The reason is that VeriPure's water is killing the bacteria that makes fruits and vegetables turn brown. With the VeriPure® water, I can shop with confidence as long as I rinse the fruit and vegetables immediately upon arriving home from the grocery store. Incidentially, I have since learned that many restaurants with a high usage rate love VeriPure® for the protection from bacteria and for the fact that their produce will last longer, saving them a substantial amount of money overthe course of a year.

#6 Ozone Water Requires No Lugging Heavy Bottles from the Grocery Store

As a fitness professional, I can state that resistance training should be at a workout room (home or your health club) not merely carrying bags from your car to your kitchen. By drinking ozonated water, lugging heavy bottles of liquid is now limited to just juice bottles. No bottles of water. No bottles of soda pop. The majority of my hydration, my 64 ounces of liquids, now comes from my VeriPure® ozonated water system.

#7 Ozone Water Is Healthier for Me and Our Environment and for My Checkbook Bottled water and soda pop are budget killers. The price of soda pop is consistently rising and running on the average $1.89 for a 2 liter bottle. A liter is equivalent to roughly 33 ounces, so a 2 liter bottle is 67 ounces of liquid. Proper hydration is dependent on two main factors, your diet and your lifestyle. The dartboard standard is 64 ounces of hydration per day. If between soda pop and milk and juices, you are spending $2 a day, the monthly equivalent is somewhere near $60. For $60 a month, I can easily buy my VeriPure® system and provide the purest water for the entire family AND extend the life of my fruits and vegetables while enjoying the disinfecting rinse that the VeriPure® system provides.

I love this new product.

It is green. It is healthy. It is cost-effective for families.

And just Imagine all the plastic bottles you can save from the landfil too!

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs

Q: What videos can I watch to learn more?

Here is a free seminar presented by Beth Hamil (DEL Ozone) one of the leading ozone manufacturers for pool and spas in the US; it was presented at the 2007 World Aquatic Health Conference. The video seminar is completely free but you must sign in to have it delivered to you. Enjoy the seminar.

FAQs

Q: One of the first videos that appears on YouTube is how to make your own ozone water. What is the difference between making my own and the expensive ozone water systems?

A: The amount or strength of the ozone is very different from the homemade versions and those systems made by companies whose reputations are suspect. Beware of companies that make unsubstantiated claims. Make sure they have actually performed research to prove their claims. In the case of VeriPure, I was impressed with the patents the company has secured but learning that the company performs ongoing research with the finest independet labs in the country gave me peace of mind.

FAQs

Q: If municipal water utilities have utilized this technology for years, why hasn’t the local government provided the above the sink model of the ozone water system to the end consumer?

A: I believe someday the local municipal units will provide this high level of water quality – a disinfecting water right in your own kitchen. One of the reasons we don’t have it available today at the point of delivery is we didn’t have the technology before the VeriPure® system became available.

FAQs

Q: What is the difference between UV and Ozone fighting bacteria?

A: Both Ozone and Ultraviolet light are effective disinfectants. Ozone is the most consistent of the two for a number of reasons. UV only kills the bacteria in which it comes in direct contact. Ozone water has disinfecting capabilities for several minutes after dispensing. Additionally, UV is not a stand alone system and must be combined with Reverse Osmosis or a similar system to both filter and disinfect water.

FAQs

Q: If ozone water can disinfect other surfaces, why isn’t it covered under my insurance for wound care?

A: Great question. I believe it is simply because the technology to deliver this amount of disinfection in a safe and compact size has never been available before. Remember, ozone was discovered in the 1840s. Engineers have been able to mimic this natural process for over 100 years. But, much like the computer chip, the size of the unit was not practical for home use, until now.

FAQs

Q: Are the Chinese units any good?

A: I am cautious of foreign made because of quality issues reported in the media.  The main issues with these types of units is the absence of reliable independent testing. I believe in the VeriPure® system because they have ongoing independent laboratory results. I also look for the lights on the front of the unit to show me it is functioning correctly.

FAQs

Q: Why are there so many "cures" associated with ozone water, but you contend they are not documented?

A: Probably because of funding. Research, especially clinical trials, is an expensive process. Europe has two clinical trials pending right now. I am anxiously awaiting the results. Again, effective ozone water is in an infancy stage in the United States. This is brand new technology. I liken the technology to the computer microchip.
