7 Reasons Why I Love The Corporate Culture of Hub Pages

I have tried three other blogging sites. And while I have only been on Hub Pages for 21 days, I already am a big supporter. Why? Because I already know that I love the “corporate culture” of Hub Pages. Hub Pages is a friendly website. It enforces it rules but does it in a way so you can understand the reasons. Websites with rules with no explanation is very frustrating. Please find below the 7 reasons that I love Hub Pages.
#1 Real Language for Real People
As an adjunct professor, I have to detail no plagiarism. It is a dry, legalistic topic. At Hub Pages, I was delighted to see a real discussion. I love the frank and open discussion about the distinction between plagiarism and duplication. http://hubpages.com/hub/duplication_vs_plagiarism
#2 Feedback and Ratings
Both the author and the individual hubs have ratings. Essentially you start out at 50 and build or decrease from that point. And you will receive instant feedback tracking your score and your impressions.
#3 Length with an Emphasis Upon Quality
Unlike other sites I have personally tried (which I will not name here – they are great sites with a different purpose and a different focus) Hub Pages wants and demands quality. They want added photos, videos, and links. They demand a certain length. I was prohibited from publishing one of my recent hubs because it was too short!
#4 Multiple Streams of Income
Affiliate settings are easy to view – simply look under the tab “Your Account”. These are difficult to connect. Once connected, the screen is very straightforward. I am still working on this. I unfortunately submitted my affiliate requests before I even got started. I wish a note could have been made on that page so I would have known I didn’t have the forum yet to be readily approved.
#5 Helpful Hubs & Forum
There are helpful hubs and forums with great information to get you started. I know it is overwhelming at first. Take a breath, step back, return and continue to read and comment on hubs. One of the blogger sites I had tried I encouraged a specific number of comments per day in order to make money at this. I make comments when they are warranted. I am not going to make comments for the sake of money. If the hub was helpful, share your thoughts.

#6 Customized Categories
Since my interests run the gamut from finance to fitness to health care to book reviews, the ability to categorize for me is huge! I need to sort my hubs. I need the control to split the fitness hubs into land and water and what I call 2 Minutes for You. These are separate and distinct. I need a way to track these articles and make sure that I can effectively build a conversation that is complete. The customized categories allow me that freedom.
#7 Hub Page Score Weighted for Originality
All blogging sites want original material – that is what makes them money. Your hub score will reflect your originality. I also commend Hub Pages for flagging duplication. On another site, I received a nasty warning for plagiarism. It was my own material I was posting. There was no kind advice about duplication verses plagiarism. I had no idea. I had to write to them and explain it was my material and I detailed in the blog itself it was reprinted from before. Hub Pages is straightforward in regards to duplication and plagiarism. The essence of communication is respect. Always assume the best, work together to discuss and learn. This is how loyalty is built with fellow employees and with fellow writers. Kudos is owed to Hub Pages management for understanding this basic principle.
Somewhere on the site I saw a request for suggestions. I tried to locate that link. I want to ask for the text boxes to offer colored background preferably with gradient and optional colors for the text. The text box formatting was very simple but adding color along with a border would give my hub about promoting fitness in hospitals that needed punch. http://hubpages.com/hub/healthcaresimpleactionplanforhospitalstopromotefitness

COOL! You'll do great I can tell!
HAPPY WEEKEND!
I just started using the embedded videos - that is really neat! You can actually create your own scenarios of different videos. Only one suggestion I would make - add a slide show feature to the videos similar to the photos - or does this exist and I haven't seen it yet?
Great Hub Kelly . .especially a great one for people just getting started. .it can be a bit overwhelming but you put Thumbs up and welcome to HP!
Your reasons for liking the corporate culture at Hub Pages are good ones. This is the first place that I started writing and although I am still figuring out various aspects of it, I am enjoying my time spent here. Hopefully you will continue to enjoy yourself.

I'm glad you're enjoying HubPages. Informally, I've looked at the success of educators on HubPages and they seem to do really well for reasons we are not sure about other than success can be correlated to being an educator, so you have a good chance at doing well here.
It sounds like you have the essence of what we are trying to achieve. I hope you continue to enjoy your time here.
