Brochure design and printing is quite easy provided you follow some easy steps. However it takes time to learn how to master the art of brochure design.

1. Create a simple design

You should not clutter your brochure with a lot of text and graphics just because there is enough space available. You should only include the necessary space information such as benefits and testimonials. The necessary information will vary depending on the purpose audience to which the brochure is addressed to.

2. Leave some white space

White space is any space that is not filled with text, photos, or any element of the design. If you have too much material on the brochure people won’t know what is the most interesting ting about the bronchure. The eyes will get tired quickly from seeing too much information at once. You should resist the urge to use every available space in your brochure.

3. Choose the right colors

The right color combination will attract customers and make them want to explore your bronchure.Use brochure colors that complement your logo colors or other colors that are associated with your company. This will also make your brochures look professional. For instance don’t use a lot of red color because you like the color red but rather because you want your readers to feel relaxed.

4. Dont use a lot of text

Use photos or images to minimize the number of words and also to create the right visual appeal to your customers. keep the page length, sentences and paragraphs short.

5. Include a page bleed

Your brochure needs a page bleed on each page where the color continues off the page to account for shifts in the cutting of your brochure at the printer.Bronchures are usually printed into large sheets and then cut into single units. The cutting blade often at times shifts slightly so if you don’t have a page bleed you end up having a lot of white space.Softwares like Adobe photoshop, illustrator, Indesign and QuarkXPress all have a page bleed setting. The recommended size for a page bleed is 1/8 inch bleed. This is enough to cover any blade shifts.

6. Choose an affordable paper

The quality of paper should be given paramount importance. It can greatly complement the brochure design. Some paper types absorb color better and some give the designs a dull finish. You can choose from many different paper types for your brochure as well different UV coatings. The higher the weight the thicker the paper.UV coatings reduce finger smudge as well ink fading that comes with time.

7. Design according to the size of the paper

You should check the paper sizes offered by an online printer. The choice of paper size will affect the design in content as well as the size. Having prior knowledge before choosing the type of paper to use for your brochure will give you the advantage of getting better results for a few more dollars. If you start your paper design using one size and then decide to change it you’ll need to redesign the brochure in your design software.

8. Use high resolution images

This makes the brochure eyecatching.
