Bluetooth technology has been supporting the wireless communication wave of the future by allowing two devices to "talk" to one another over low-frequency radio waves since 1999. Wired devices have almost been replaced by Bluetooth headsets and seem to be thing of past.

Bluetooth devices, particularly Bluetooth headsets are most in demand and equivalent is the confusion to select out chunk of them available. Many of us simply don’t even know the criteria for getting a high-functioning, quality device for their money.

So this article is completely dedicated to the novices to help them deciding the best Bluetooth headset for them. There can be several factors that can be considered while a buying it right from functionality to range of use, to compatibility and style. So first prioritise your own criteria out of listed below and thereby considering the tips to buy them which fits both your needs and your budget.

1. Sound Quality. Crisp Clear sound quality and volume control is must to bear with a weak connection. Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Technology is the latest technology to check out for in a Bluetooth headset. DSP enables headset speakers to minimise background noise by cancelling the echo.

2. Comfort. You have to see which one you’re comfortable with, an earhook or a boom. Make sure to check size-option that can make them more suitable to fit in your ear. The "in the ear" headset is the least comfortable option is, but can be given a thought because of higher sound quality and clarity.

3. Pairing. Device pairing is getting connected with device. A Bluetooth headset should be able recognise your device automatically and should function with up to seven devices.

4. Operational range. Bluetoothheadset should have an unhindered range of at least 10 meters (about thirty feet) – which is standard for Bluetooth Class 2 devices. You can check the technical specification on the package while buying.

5. Ease of Use. Make sure that the device can be used hands-free so that it keeps you out of danger of many states no-cell-phone laws while driving.

6. Battery. Lack of battery life is an issue needs to be addressed. Look for 8 hours of talk or play-time, up to 100 hours stand-by. Charging time and charging mode is another area needed to be checked.

7. Compatibility. Should be Bluetooth 1.1 technology compliant atleast.

· 1.2 version helps to eliminate radio frequency interference with a frequency hopping option for better security.

· Version 2.0 has been introduced with some devices and goes a step further with faster transmission speeds and lower battery consumption.

8. Style. If you are a trend follower or style seeker don’t forget to check the two options which are boom or no boom.

· Boom options –they can be heavier and bulky but offer higher clarity.

· Non-boom options can either be "in the ear" headsets (less comfortable but more secure) or headsets that are worn around the ear via a folding clip.

Keep in mind that Bluetooth technology is constantly evolving. Make sure that the Bluetooth headset you choose is compatible with the optimal amount of Bluetooth versions and devices, allowing for better value for the future.

It is really important to find the right fit for your bluetooth headset. Comfort is everything. Wireless bluetooth headset has become a must have accessory for bluetooth-enabled cell phones, due to cell phone laws that restrict people from talking on the phone while driving.
