818 225 is an exchange in California. This area code and exchange are in the Los Angeles area. This area use to be area code 213, but changed due to the growth.

Eventually it was announced that 818 will be split, and a new 747 area code would be introduced. The decision was made because there will soon be a shortage of numbers using the 818 area code.

This area has grown dramatically just in the past 5 years and experts predict this won't be the first split.
